He’s my nemesis, my rival, and the man I can’t get out of my head. We may be star-crossed but there’s enough heat between us to start a wildfire.
I’ve never been one to follow the rules, but sleeping with a wolf shifter might be over the line, even for me. So, why can’t I get him out of my head? Or his scent out of my nose. Even on the other side of the world, I swear I can still smell him.
Everyone has a hobby, mine just happens to be stealing from the rich and powerful to give back to the rightful owners. A native art exhibit in Sydney is the last place I expected to see Draydon again. I can’t shake the feeling that he’s here for the same reason I am… and here I thought larceny couldn’t get any more fun.
I’m a dragon without a proper hoard and he’s too jaded to even trust his own pack. But we’ve already lit a fire that’s getting out of hand.
Stealing Draydon’s heart might be my most impossible heist yet.
REVIEW:
NOTE: This is the third in the series and there are major spoilers for the first two books. That said, it can technically work as a standalone – but I recommend reading/listening in order 😉
Arson Drake is the black sheep of his dragon family. He doesn’t like being stuck at home with his family on their compound when he’s not working on a case. He has a side project which is to steal things and return them to their rightful owners. Like artworks taken during the WWII by the Nazi’s. Or works taken from an artist returned to the heirs. Or artifacts returned to their rightful owners in their original countries.
One night Arson is restless so he goes to a bar and meets Draydon, a wolf shifter, on a full moon. They have amazing sex but come on. The guy is a wolf and the dragons and wolves don’t mix. But it would be nice if they could keep up this sex stuff 😉
They end up in London at the same time though several weeks later. Because unbeknownst to Arson, Draydon is ALSO a theif 😉 And they are after the same target. They keep running into each other and they keep have great sex and enjoying each other company. Draydon seems to hoard and also have wonderlust leaving his pack behind 😉
When the cat’s out of the bag, so to speak, and the pack and Arson’s family find out about these two, well things get a little complicate 🙂 But they are unwilling to give each other up. There’s also a job to be done that Arson needs to take care of and Draydon works with him to find the missing person. The more time they spend together at Arson’s, the more they find themselves intertwined. But can a dragon and a wolf really work? Hmmmm. What an interesting idea 😉
This is my favorite in this series. I absolutely love Arson and Draydon! They are so different and yet they are so two souls who don’t feel they fit the mold of their species, but that’s what makes them made for their mates. The subtitle for this book is Thief vs. Thief (shoutout to another brilliant series narrated by Michael F). I loved the dual POVs of Arson’s and Draydon’s lives and serendipitous meetups during their globetrotting thefts. I absolutely loved the way they fought what building between them and finally just give into their desires/
This is an absolutely fantastic audio performance by Michael Ferraiuolo. So brilliant. So many interesting characters and their accents are perfect. I literally get all Michael Ferraiuolo’s audiobooks as soon as I can and this is a perfect example why. I’m not sure how this could be any better. The narration is so on point! Highly recommended.
