The royal wedding took years to prepare but only one moment of panic and a cute single dad to undo.
As a European prince, I should want for nothing, right? I have money, power, prestige. But what about love and passion? Acceptance?
Running to America on the eve of my wedding isn’t the responsible thing to do. Just ask my mother, the Queen. She has quite a few thoughts on the subject.
While hiding from my protection detail in a Burger King, I meet Isaac and his son. This protective father interrupts me, calls me a menace, and doesn’t believe I’m a prince. I’m instantly smitten. All of this is new to me. I’ve never been attracted to a guy…or anyone, for that matter.
But Isaac has his own responsibilities and our chance meeting complicates his life in ways I couldn’t have imagined. As we work together to mitigate the damage, I fall even harder for this amazing man.
How can this work when we live in different countries? Will Isaac lose the person he cares about most? Will my country accept a gay future king?
I don’t know what happens next, but I know I can’t face it without Isaac by my side.
Runaway Prince is the second book in the Wedding Disasters series. If you enjoy books with royals in love, bi-awakening, possessive MCs, tiara-stealing emus, and an HEA, dive into this swoony, laugh-out-loud, small-town romance.
REVIEW:
Adrian is hiding out after skipping his wedding. He ends up in a small town in Missouri where he meets a 5 year old named Simon and his single dad Isaac. Well Adrian is smitten. But he’s got bigger problems them his security detail catching up with him. Like a jilted fiance and an unhappy queen (mother).
Isaac can’t believe it when Adrian shows up the next week with Reginald, his bodyguard. It seems that there is a little problem with a photo – but even more problematic is the person behind the photo – and not the journalist who is threatening exposure of an innocent pic of Adrian and Isaac. Isaac’s ex-wife is the one pulling the strings. He’s barely on his feet after a bad divorce and custody battle. And why would a prince want to entangle himself in boring old Isaac’s problems?
But Adrian does want to entangle himself. Despite the obvious differences, Isaac wants that too 😉
This book is a complete delight!! In fact this is my favorite D.K. Sutton book to date. I loved Adrian and Isaac’s romance. But what really made the book sing were how all the supporting characters filled out this story. Simon is such a sweet kid. I love how he was written realistically. Melting down in a supermarket, super curious about Adrian and Reggie, wanting his mom, excitement in traveling and meeting new people were written from the viewpoint of a small child. He was adorable!!! I laughed so many times. I always said one of the reasons I could never be a parent is that I would be laughing waaaaay too much and you can’t do that with little kids because they are dead serious! Luckily Isaac is the parent here 😉
Adrian’s family and friends and Isaac’s friends are a bit worried about them and their different circumstances and experiences. But also supportive. Isaac doesn’t think he’s worthy – but Adrian has self-worth issues also. Luckily they are there for each other.
Honestly do yourself and favor and pick up this book. It’s everything – sweet, funny, romantic, surprising in the best ways. I loved it and I think you will too 😀
