If you dare.
What could be more fun than a day at an amusement park filled with rides, games, and all the junk food you can eat? Ronan O’Mara can’t wait to tame the Viper, the parks double loop rollercoaster just like he did when he was a kid.
Psychic Tennyson Grimm has more in mind that surviving the Viper. His brother is in town and he’s looking forward to catching up and spending time getting to know him—while the kids hang out in the pool and have sleepovers at a different house every night.
Content to tackle the tamer rides, Ten ushers his family onto the Ferris Wheel. While stopped at the top, Tennyson’s day of fun is interrupted by a spirit and the vision of a deadly fall from the pinnacle. A fall which was ruled a suicide but is starting to look an awful lot like murder. The spirit belongs to Kotter Britehouse, the former owner of Fun-A-Rama, who’d been embroiled in a million-dollar embezzlement scheme prior to his untimely death.
Who killed Kotter Brighthouse? Why? Where’s the missing money? More importantly are there more victims to come?
REVIEW:
Once again, a fantastic addition to the Cold Case Psychic series, book 27, in case you missed that. Which means you get my usual disclaimer – you must read this and the Haunted Souls series in order, as they intricately linked with one another.
In true cold case fashion, we have a very unhappy ghost, and he is determined to be heard from. And what is more fun that to incorporate an amusement park as the backdrop for this case.
Once more Pandora has created a spectacular environment for this cold case to emerge from. Ten’s newly discovered brother and his family have come to visit them in Salem. Which of course leads to a day at the amusement park for the kids and the chaotic meeting of Kotter Brighthouse. Talk about a frustrated ghost…
Ten looked out the window to see if he could catch a glance at what Everly was seeing. There was another commotion on the midway. “What the hell?” Ten watched, gob smacked, as food flew in the air. Hot dogs. Burgers. Fried dough. Lastly, pink and blue cotton candy floated toward the sky like escaped birthday balloons.
“What’s happening?” Ronan asked. “Some jerk is scaring people, and they’re throwing food when he startles them,” Ten said. “I hope security can get a better hold on him this time.”
“Uh, Daddy,” Everly said softly. “It’s not a jerk. It’s a ghost.”
What I really love about these stories, is how, no matter what case the gang is working on, they always have time for each other. Their found family dynamic gives me all the feels. As always, Pandora continues to evolve all the main and side characters in this series. The side characters ebb and flow from the storyline and are never inserted into the story without cause.
The storyline and mystery are wonderfully crafted, as usual and so intriguing – I never want to put my eReader down at night. To be able to craft a different murder mystery every time, leaves me in awe of her sheer talent – every time…
If you love this series as much as I do, you better get to your favorite eBook purchasing site – as quickly as possible and snatch this one up. You won’t regret it.
