REVIEW:
It has been some time since I last read about the Arcadia Trust, but everything I loved up to this point was front and center and it all came back to me quickly. This is a fantastic paranormal/vampire story that, to me, rivals any of the similar mainstream stories. It has the same feel and worldbuilding and just sucks you in with the details. It focuses on the paranormal aspects which are interesting and intriguing. There are established relationships, but they are not the main focus.
In this installment, Reylan has returned from the Wound after rescuing Jorgas. Details are still foggy as to what all has actually occurred, and they not only don’t clear up right away, but things all around them get murkier the more Reylan tries to figure things out.
There are a lot of cogs at play in the wheel of this story. It was not difficult to keep everything straight, but I found myself taking this story slow so that I could savor it, as I didn’t want it to end too quickly. As with the previous books, I’m already looking forward to the next one.
