REVIEW:
This is the fifth book in the Franklin U 2 series. The relationship between Everly, a stripper and TA, and Silas, a professor who meets Everly in both professions, is hinted at in book 4.
The book begins with a strip club with Silas getting a lap dance from Everly (not that he knows who Everly is at that point) and ends up jizzing in his khakis because of it “I behaved abominably at a friend’s bachelor party. Like a dog in heat.” I agreed. A thirty-five-year-old tenured professor coming to the mere thought of a student’s ass sitting on me.”
It one of those twists of fate, Everly the stripper is also Everly the student and TA to Dr. Silas Sinclair. Honestly, already at this point Silas is not acting 35, more like 15. He is so uncomfortable and lusting, that finally, when he is about to fire Everly, ”Come on, Dr. Sinclair. It’s fine. I really won’t tell a soul. It’s between you and me.” Everly seems more mature then the professor. Silas does the right thing, however, and keeps Everly on board.
Silas and Everly begin a sort of back-and-forth stalkerish dance of attraction. Silas really can’t be anything but out of control around Everly and is constantly struggling with wanting to jump him. Everly is the more mature of the two, despite being the younger of the two. There are attempts to cause jealousy, after Silas has some stern words about being professional. “And Everly’s just been lurking around with Hottie McHotButt, with those big muscles, full head of hair and youthful face.” Things really come to a head when Everly’s apartment falls apart and he has to find somewhere to live. We saw that coming.
It was a little strange to me how focused Silas was on Everly’s butt, at home or at work. But the whole book is very lusty. There is a lot more sex in this one than the other Franklin U 2, which really didn’t work so well for me. The back-and-forth of “we can’t/we can” was getting to me. There is also a coincidence with Lee, who is an awesome character.
So this was not my favorite of the Franklin U 2 series. If you like a lot of sex, this one will do it for you.
