When dragon shifter Elowyn arrives at the keep in the Rocky Mountains, he’s just there to help out with a baby who needs a nanny. But what he gets are two very grumpy warrior dragons and a living situation that he’s not sure he can handle. He’s pretty certain he doesn’t want to, in fact.
Cerran and Triton saved their baby daughter Leilani from death at their old keep, and now they vow to keep her safe. Triton thinks that he must protect her from Elowyn. But once he gets to know Elowyn, Triton knows he’s made a mistake. With his shield mate Cerran’s help, the three of them come to understand, and love, each other, but can they navigate being three people in a new relationship and save their daughter again when their past catches up to them?
This is a MMM dragon shifter mpreg novel.
REVIEW:
We now get the story of the two mated alphas and the baby that was rescued and brought to the keep that the Seer Cain has built for a refuge for abandon and escaping dragon shifters.
Triton and Cerran, a mated alpha pair (which is extremely rare) have started settling in at their new keep. They risked their lives to get baby Leilani (now their daughter) out of that prison. Triton had actually been ordered to kill the tiny infant so their former keep could take back her extremely rare, powerful and valuable heartstone. They are having a hard time with the transition and keeping up with all that is required with a baby that was close to starving. Durango, one of the keep’s rescuers that helped save them, brings an omega to help them out. Elowyn, a soul healer and Rowan’s brother (the keeps mid-wife), is new to the keep. He knows that he is never destined for a mate. His birth seer had told him he “will never mate with an alpha.” But what that seer never saw was that he was actually the fated mate of two mated alphas! But can he really be a part of these two men and their baby’s family? And how will they protect her and themselves from those that want her heartstone back???
I can’t think of anything more disgusting and despicable than killing an innocent baby just because they bonded with a birthstone that was “too valuable” to the elders of a keep. Thankfully Triton and Cerran kept her safe until their rescue. That little girl has already lost her omega mother and endured so much on her short life. That former keep was disgusting. They totally disrespected dragon life over a piece of stone!
This story brought back a humorous memory from our family. When my sister-in-law was pregnant with twins she was also smaller in stature. After an extremely rough pregnancy and delivery of two beautiful baby girls, my brother-in-law announced that he couldn’t do this ever again. “We’re never, ever doing this again.” from Cerran brought this all back to mind with a small chuckle. It’s not like they are squeezing a bowling ball out!
I do love a triad story and this one really was good. A stoic older alpha, his younger mate who actually saw reason better when it came to bonds. And a sweet omega that thought he would never have love and a family. Plus babies!!! This story was a win/win for me.
It was great to get to see cameos of characters from the past two books and the friendships that are forming. I really enjoy this series and can’t wait for more!
