He’s my first and only crush. He’s my new coach. Oh, and he was once my dad’s teammate and best friend.
I’ve been in love with Nate Partridge since I can remember. Under my mattress, there has always been a stack of magazine covers with his bare torso and a pearly smile. But that’s about the extent of it.
I can never have Nate Partridge. He is a straight guy and twenty years my senior. Neither of which is a dealbreaker for me, but he disagrees.
When a hockey accident forces him to retire, he takes the freshly vacant job of coaching the Arctic Titans. And my life takes an unexpected turn for the better.
Nate is the only person who has ever truly understood me. Where my father’s ambition dictates my every waking moment, Nate’s kindness and compassion make me feel like there’s more to life than hockey. Dad’s disregard for my passions makes Nate’s encouragement only sweeter.
And my crush reaches all new heights. Especially when I discover his deepest secret.
Nate Partridge is not straight.
But do I stand a chance? To him, I am nothing more than his old friend’s kid and a college freshman he’s in charge of training.
If I want Nate Partridge, it will take more than hope to make this real.
It’s time to shake things up in my life before I can make him mine.
REVIEW:
This series is so beautiful! Mr. Hayden Hall has outdone himself in this one. I love each character he created and love how these young man had embodied being young in age and mature at the same time. We have seen love stories forged among these young man but book seven will be a bit different as it involves an Age Gap trope, but with two very special people, our beloved Nate Partridge and Carter Prince, Nate’s bestfriend’s son.
I always wondered if Nate was going to get his own book because he was present in the previous books especially in Big Stick Energy, the story of Beckett and Caden. Beckett is Nate’s nephew. And now here it is. This book is beautiful. Nate and Carter are beautiful!
The main issue is the age gap, but that is on Nate’s part only. Carter has come to a point where he’s had enough of what his father wants for him, he wants his own life, not involving ice hockey, which he used to love but now he is just doing it because it’s what his father wants, He wants to play music. And he is really good as witnessed by everyone when he played during an Open Night. Nate, Beckett and Caden were there to witnessed it.
When Carter decided to quit Ice Hockey, he immediately informed the school administration and his Coach, he has lost his love for it. He is a decisive and determined young man but don’t let if fool you because he does feel insecure and have his doubts all the time, but being unhappy is not an option anymore, he has to take matters into his own hands and go for what he wants. Which is, by the way, are Nate Partridge and a musical degree, not Ice Hockey.
I love this series Mr. Hayden Hall, but I think aside from Beckett and Caden’s story, this would be my next favorite. I am so happy that Nate and Carter are finally together and that they have filled each other’s lives with happiness and so much love! Congratulations!
