Sascha has always felt powerless, the weak baby of a cruel family. But that’s fine. He has his looks, his ample allowance, and a smattering of one-night stands to keep him busy. But when Sascha’s oldest brother offends the wrong people, Sascha finds himself in hiding with a target on his back. And when poking around in his temporary home leads to accidentally summoning the hottest demon Sascha could ever imagine, he has to ask himself: does he want to feel powerless anymore?
Kai has been waiting centuries for a summons. When he’s at long last brought to the human realm for his final contract, he expects to find another warrior hungry for battle and bloodshed. Instead, he finds himself bound to a saucy, scared mobster princeling who can’t stop looking at Kai like he’s dinner. It isn’t long before Kai decides that—for once—he wouldn’t mind staying exactly where he is, with a certain human for his mate.
But Sascha isn’t used to anyone sticking around, let alone caring for him in any real way. It’s up to Kai to convince Sascha he can give him so much more than protection. He just has to deal with those pesky enemies—and Sascha’s own meddling family—first.
WREAKING HAVOC IS A HEATED MM PARANORMAL ROMANCE WITH A HEA AND NO CLIFFHANGER. IT CONTAINS A SPOILED (OR IS IT TRAUMATIZED?) MAFIA PRINCE WITH TRUST ISSUES, THE COCKY WARRIOR DEMON WHO WANTS NOTHING MORE THAN TO PAMPER HIM FOR ETERNITY, A STIFLING FAMILY, ELUSIVE ENEMIES, AND THE FRUSTRATION OF NEVER GETTING TO FINISH A MANICURE.
REVIEW:
I loved Grae Bryan’s Vampire’s Mates series and was ecstatic to learn that she was writing a spin-off series based on Alexei’s brothers and the demons they summon.
Sascha, is Alexei and Ivan’s baby brother. He has always been seen by Ivan and their father as the delicate one and, for the most part, sheltered from their Russian Mafia family business. It got harder when Alexei took off. But now there is a real threat to his life. Another Mafia family is unhappy with how things are going and decided to use Sascha as a “pin cushion”! Now he is sequestered to the tiny seaside town in Maine for his recovery and safety. But when playing around with a cool old book he found in his attic he finds himself face-to-face with an honest-to-goodness demon that he somehow accidentally summoned from the demon realm! And it appears that he’s not going back until he completes his final contract.
I thank my lucky stars that I took a chance on this amazing and talented brand new author when she came to us awhile ago offering this first book in a series about vampires and their mates. One of the better decisions I have made in reading and reviewing. Grae is a great story teller that weaves a universe that is complex and believable.
I had wondered for awhile now about Alexei’s brothers when I read his book. I knew that he had escaped the Russian Mafia that his family was head of in New York. And I know that he had been close to his baby brother when he lived there and did worry about him. Sascha’s story of what he witnessed as a young boy turned my stomach. To subject a 6 year old to such violence was inexcusable. The poor boy was burning up with fever and just needed help. That his cruel father had made him witness what Mafia’s do to others was child abuse. So the fact that he was pampered and spoiled, according Ivan and his henchmen, was wrong. That moment was forever etched in his brain. The sight of blood literally made him faint. I loved that Kai was this force to reckoned with and that he protected his Sascha from not only harm but witnessing anything that would trigger him. And that Kai realized what was finally in front of him…a future. These two very opposites attract really clicked well together. I loved that Kai fell for the tortured man that had suffered from his family’s business. He saw through the pampered mafia prince to the real man that captured his heart. And I loved that Sascha finally found someone that truly loved him and saw the real man not the façade that his family created. They were meant to be mates.
The special treat in this book was getting to see Alexei and Jay again! The reaction of Kai’s when he realized that Sascha’s favorite brother was a “bloodsucker” was priceless. Talk about going into immediate protection mode! But Jay being Jay I knew it would work out between the four. Oh and Alexei learned that vampire hearing isn’t always a good thing. 🤣 lol. That was priceless!
I can’t wait for the next book! Ivan, the Mafia boss and the incubus that he summoned. This is sure to be a wild ride. But I expect nothing less from Grae Bryan!
