Someone wants Dr. Josh ‘Wheels’ Malone dead—and they’ll keep trying until he’s six feet under, which means CrossBow Operations Manager Dixon Meeks has his work cut out for him.
Make sure Dr. Malone—Doc—eats.
Sleeps.
Stays alive.
Not that he minds this latest assignment. Doc has been on his radar for a while, and Dixon will do anything to protect him, especially if it means Doc actually notices him.
When a second attempt on his life fails, Josh has no choice but to let Gary Cross and Michael Kennedy in on the dirtiest secret project ever.
One that could cost thousands of lives.
A project he’d believed was dead and buried.
But someone had dug it up, and now it’s deadlier than ever.
Josh’s brilliant mind is struggling to keep up, and his To Do list is growing.
Atone for his past.
Find the bad guy.
Save the world.
And hold onto the man—and the life—that’s come to mean everything to him.
REVIEW:
Josh is doing his best to help out his friend who runs Crossbow Protection. He’s determined to make the world a better place and make up for things that happened in his past.
Dixon is determined to make sure that Josh is taken care of because the man is a menace to himself. And he’s definitely very cute.
I loved both these guys. Josh is so cute in that distracted, smart guy way that you just want to pinch his cheeks. He’s also trying to very hard to be a good person. He never wants to hurt anyone and after a bad breakup, he feels like he’s unlovable.
Dixon is a sweet cinnamon roll who dotes on the clueless doctor. He could also kill you with one hand. His devotion to Josh is absolutely adorable. His love language is doing little things that make Josh’s life easier and he never expects the distracted man to actually look his way.
This is more of a thriller with some romance thrown in but I loved it all. The authors have built a very interesting world for their characters to run around kicking ass in. I loved seeing more of Gary and Mike from the first book and loved how they all worked together to save…well, everyone.
I love being taking on a roller coaster ride when I’m reading a book. With a thrill around every corner and some sexy sweetness making an appearance now and then, it has everything that I could ask for. Hot guys, explosions, car chases, all mixed with a little hacking and espionage to keep things interesting.
Watching Josh and Dixon grow closer and closer was both breathtaking and heartbreaking. Josh is so detemined that he has to give up everything to keep everyone save but Dixon is not having any of it.
This story has a great premise, interesting characters that were easy to connect with and a hell of a climax, one worthy of a big screen adaptation as far as I’m concerned.
This is a definite 5 out of 5 and those have been in very short supply for me these days.
I can also recommend anything that these two fantastic writers put together so once you’re done this series, please go and see what else might appeal to you!
