BLURB:
I came to New Onyx seeking opportunity and experiences, trading in my small town existence for a big city one. I never expected to stumble upon a place like Lair, a nightclub that captures all of life’s hedonistic pleasures. Working there is…interesting, and I’m learning that there’s so much more to the world than I ever knew.
Meeting Hale, the charismatic, alluring man with a wild streak, leads me down a path of self-discovery, desire, and a hint of danger I never thought possible. I’ve never had feelings for a man before, but there’s something undeniable about the stoic man. He’s possessive and overbearing, but somehow, those qualities intrigue me.
When faced with a problem that threatens all that I hold dear, it’s Hale I lean on to get me through it. He helps unleash a side of me I didn’t know existed, leading me down a path of discovery that turns my life on its head. With Hale by my side, things are about to get Feral.
Feral is book one in Wicked Nights at Lair, an Immortal Assassins spin-off series. You can expect a hunky farm boy with a heart of gold in the big city, a wounded vampire doing his best to be civilized, a city full of bad guys who need to learn a lesson, a steamy nightclub setting with a touch of k*nk, fated mates, bisexual awakening, family ties, cameo appearances, tons of heat, and two men embracing their feral sides.
REVIEW:
Yannis is an interesting young man. Someone pulled to the city to look for more from his life. And he finds a lot. His whole journey is about self-discovery and learning that sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith. He’s a sweet young man who’s determined to make a good life for himself. and ends up finding so much more.
Hale is not sweet in the least and that’s okay. He’s dangerous, hedonistic and loyal to those he cares about. He’s been alive and looking for his mate for a very long time and the emotions he feels when Yannis finally walks into his life are something he never thought he’d find.
These are such interesting characters and the premise really caught my attention. Yannis being so willing to explore the way he sees himself is so refreshing and he really was an easy character to connect to and adore.
Hale is so very different yet he’s still decent under all his darkness and I very much enjoyed him falling for Yannis even if it did seem like it was against his will sometimes.
I have not read the Immortal Assassins series this book spun off of but I am definitely going to go and take a look at them. I enjoyed the banter between the characters and the friendships that we get to see amongst the different beings that make up the staff and clientelle at Lair.
Of course the sex is smoking hot, steamy and still a little sweet. I found it to be just the right amount, and appreciated that it didn’t take over the whole book.
To be honest, I would have liked to have seen this book go on a little longer, but that’s just me being selfish because I was enjoying this journey so much. If you love supernatural stories as much as I do, this will definitely be right up your alley.
It keps my attention the whole way through and once I started reading it, I couldn’t put it down. Please don’t tell my day-job boss though. I’ll be looking to see what happens next in this world.
An easy 4 out of 5!
