REVIEW:
Fun in the sun. First book I’ve read in this delightful new multi-author series.
Todd is kinda feeling left out. All his pup-bros have found their mates/handlers/daddies and he is now odd man/pup out. Sure his besties will never discard him. They all love each other. But this inaugural cruise his very best friend Jax has set up, with his newest luxury yacht/cruise ship, seems to be all couples. So bringing along a fake boyfriend should take the spotlight off of him and his lack of love life. The obvious choice is Larry. He’s Levi’s partner’s best friend. But the man insulted their pup play and is an arrogant A$$…a very rich one that is perfect for this. Only problem is that Larry really isn’t so bad after all and tries really hard to please Todd. But can Todd really trust what he’s saying? Or is he just say it to get in his pants like all the other pretend handler?
Both Larry and Todd had a lot of trust issues. Many stemming back to their families and the way they were raised. Larry’s dad was a real piece of nastiness that kept cycling through his mind. And Todd had been burned before by guys saying they were handlers and wanted him. But when they got him they threw him away. These two not only were perfect for each other but needed each other.
I love that his besties called Todd out on his lies and chastised him for what he was judging Larry for. He needed to understand that he hurt him by playing his head games.
I will say that there are a lot of couple’s here to keep straight who’s with who if you haven’t read each of the series that are attached to this book. A lot of established couple. I discovered, at the end of the book when I finished, that there was an outline. It was the who’s who, what they did for a living, how they were interconnected, and who was a couple. It also outlined their kink and how they fell into that role. I wish I would have read that first, kind of like a glossary or table of characters. Especially if you are like me and this is your first time in this universe.
Cute book that kicked off this new series for me nicely. 👍
