You’re the only one who can get under my skin.
Levi
Trapped in nightmares from my past, the only comfort I find is in gifts from the man who killed my mother’s killer—presents wrapped in a body bag and delivered to the morgue for me to examine.
From the first time I saw his mark, I knew I had to keep my Killer safe, had to keep his work a secret for me and me alone. Every body is a love letter, and I’m the only one who can read them.
Jonah
When I accidentally leave evidence behind during a kill, I have to go to the morgue to rectify my mistake. I didn’t expect to find a young mortician admiring my work.
Relishing in it. Studying it.
Covering it up.
I have no idea why someone would want to hide my crimes, but I’m determined to find out. What I discover is a man named Levi—a man obsessed with the idea of who he thinks I am.
A man who threatens to change my entire world.
~~~
Under Your Skin is a dark romance set in a world where a corrupt town lets a serial killer walk free, and a young mortician is determined to make sure it stays that way. Expect high heat, intense emotions, and two men who find their own way to define what love really means.
REVIEW:
Can a killer be soothing? Yes absolutely!
This is a story about obsession, secrets, and lies. But also about protecting, possessiveness, and some strange way of loving, if you could call it that. There’s a thin line between love and hate.
Levi has been through a rough life, he was a little boy and witness when his mother got killed. He was all alone until he got adopted by a kind man who lost his family, just like Levi.
He followed his adopted father who is a mortician.
One day Levi got the killer of his mom in front of him on the table. There were more bodies, and all had some sort of a message.
Levi covered up the evidence of all messages, to protect the killer. His Killer!
Jonah the new guard who had the protect Levi was always around and intrigued by Levi’s work.
The guard is not afraid of blood, dead bodies, or the heavy injuries on them, Levi wonders why.
Jonah found a way to get near Levi and was surprised to see Levi covered all the evidence, the evidence that could prove Jonah was the killer, the serial killer.
Levi and Jonah are attracted to each other, Levi knows Jonah is dangerous and could kill him easily.
Both have secrets. Jonah can’t let Levi slip out of his hands, he’s his!
The progress was a bit slow for my pleasure. But being smashed from one side of the room to the other, made up for it, because dang it was unpredictable af! Well done!
Don’t read this story if you can’t handle blood and sharp knives, if you can handle them and start reading you’ll also find some bloody sexiness, threats, possessiveness, dirty plots, secrets solved, and many turns.
I enjoyed this one very much!
