Some love survives death.
Mordyn never got over the horror of losing his fated mate. Even a hundred years later, he blames himself. What kind of vampire is he, that he failed to protect the man he promised forever?
The worst kind.
So when fate offers him a second chance, he refuses.
Apollo is his mate reborn.
But Mordyn isn’t going to mess up his life a second time.
No matter how much he yearns to sink his fangs into Apollo and reclaim what he’s lost.
Apollo doesn’t lust after vampires. He hunts them down and locks them up—if he doesn’t just stake them. It’s hard work, but someone’s got to do it—and every kill soothes some of that ever-burning anger inside of him.
But Mordyn’s smile fans the flames inside him in all the wrong ways.
He’s hot, yes, but he’s the enemy.
And yet Apollo keeps having these dreams. Dreams in which he’s not quite himself. Dreams that only stoke the fire he tries so hard to keep in check while he’s awake.
When he’s forced to work with Mordyn, he doesn’t know how to manage. Before long, he’s either going to screw the vampire or stick a knife in him.
He almost doesn’t care which.
REVIEW:
My usual disclaimer – This is the third book in the Rubyville Vampires series and is not a standalone. You must read the previous two book as the storylines from them carryover to this book. Although we do have a new set of main characters in Mordyn and Apollo. Mordyn our cranky but loveable vampire and Apollo our resident, self-proclaimed vampire hunter. A combination that might just be more volatile than any of the other couples in Rubyville.
Another book in the Rubyville Vampires series that packs a serious punch from the get-go. Action packed scenes only enhance the world building in this series and in this book the world building went beyond the normal. As a separate world was created for the flashback scenes. Flashback is really not the correct word here, probably more like a regression to a previous life of one of the main characters.
Once again Silvana manages to elicit some seriously strong feelings from me. She draws me in with her brilliantly crafted words. I become so absorbed in the storyline, I’m shocked when one or both of the main characters are mistreated in some way. I can’t say to much here, because it will give a few things away. And can I just say, Ms. Falcon certainly knows how to create some seriously gruesome torture scenes on and off the page. I really cringed in a couple of the scenes.
Character development continues to lure me in and keep me coming back for more. I really enjoyed the fated mate being reborn aspect of this story. The chemistry between these two is off the charts for their type of love/hate relationship. Which only enhances their sexy times.
Once they were gone, Apollo immediately stepped up to the bars separating him from Mordyn and dropped to his knees. “Why did you have to come after me?” he demanded, guilt and helpless anger twisting his stomach.
Mordyn scoffed, turning on his side to look at him. “Someone’s got to save you from yourself.”
Is it possible for a fated mate to be reborn and find happiness the second time around? Can fangs violently removed grow back? If you want to know what happens with Apollo and Mordyn – you need to RUN to your favorite eBook ordering site and snatch this one up. You won’t regret it. Can’t wait to get my hands on book four.
