RELEASE DATE: April 19, 2024
BLURB:
Conall grew up as one of the few humans in the circus. He loves his magical family but can’t help feeling like the odd one out. He’s too romantic, too naive, and too ordinary.
Tidun has it all. The looks, the fame, the family lineage, but he feels like something is missing. Sperm whale shifters are tight-knit, and as the only prince of the royal family, he’s beloved by his people. Still, he yearns for something more.
A runaway briefcase full of questionable content, and Conall gallantly stepping in to save the day, has both of them lingering in each other’s thoughts. Conall wants to find the person he’s meant to be with. Tidun fears being tied-down, but he can’t see being with Conall as anything else but true freedom.
It’s unheard of for a sperm whale shifter to have a human for a mate, but they have to make it work or risk drowning in the noise of everything else.
Conall is an opposites attract, slow burn, and fated mates paranormal MM romance between a sperm whale shifter prince and a human. The Black Cat Circus: Pearl of Fate is a multi-author series and season two of the Black Cat Circus World that features found family and a magical cast of characters. Each book can be read as a standalone but is better enjoyed as a series.
REVIEW:
I love that we are getting a second season of our beloved Black Cat Circus (BCC) and finally getting sweet Conall’s story!
Conall has been a part of the BCC, along with his parents, every since they found the tiny baby abandoned in front of the busy human fire station. The tiny human was raised by his wolf-shifter parents in the magical paranormal circus and accepted by all. Now that he is approaching the end of his teens he wants what every red-blooded boy wants…to lose his virginity! That and find love like all his friends in the BCC have found. When in the new town exploring with his bestie Aisha, a lynx shifter, he unknowingly thwarts a robber from taking off with a handsome stranger’s briefcase. When electricity flies it’s just a matter of time until Tidun finds the beautiful young man. But can a sperm whale shifter and a sweet young human really be fated mates?
I would have never dreamed of there being whale shifters and that they had magical abilities to transport humans safely to their kingdom deep under the sea. This story was magical and as sweet as our young Conall. I loved that the playboy Tidun is brought to his senses by the sweet boy we have grown to adore. And he was everything I hoped Conall got and deserved. He was tender, loving and never rushed Conall. Their story really did it for me 💕 But what I most loved was that each man encouraged the other to their true potential…Conall with his artistry and Tidun with his charm, as Conall called it, to help his fellow whales band together for a common need.
Living in Hawaii, whales are very special to me. The Hawaiians call whales koholā and we love getting to watch the baby humpbacks and their moms breach right in front of my place. We have sperm whales too but they aren’t as visible as the humpbacks. I have always been a huge fan of all whales and have watched them since I was a small girl living on the Oregon Coast (yes I’m a water girl through and through). Having this book feature a sperm whale shifter and bring to light the the need to protect all our whale populations really resonated with me. They are such magnificent creatures and need to be protected. Having Tidun organize The Whale Gam was a stroke of genius. It used his skill set and helped to organize a group that desperately needed to learn to work together for their common good. A bonus was helping his oldest sister out too!
I did some research on the ambergris (sperm whale excrement) and it is used in very expensive perfumes to stabilize the fragrance and is very expensive! One pound can cost over $10,000! Who ever thought that using sperm whale poop for perfume was a bit out there. And how the heck to you “harvest” whale poop??? Have you seen the teeth sperm whales have? No thank you very much. Good thing Tidun loved his Conall so much because riding to the depths of the ocean attached to one of his teeth sounds scary!
As I stated in before in August’s review “I’m so excited to be back at BCC and surrounded by these caring and loving individuals. Last year this series was one of my best of 2023 and this new season is showing why I begged each of these amazing authors for more. So put up you feet, grab something to sip on and relax as we join the circus and their unique family. A HUGE thumbs up for me 👍”
