REVIEW:
This was a hard review to write. When I picked up this request I was excited to start reading.
But from the start I was struggling to get into the story and more so it’s characters. I couldn’t get into the story, I didn’t connect with the main characters and tbh I don’t know why. It just didn’t grab me.
Let’s me explain. I don’t regret finishing the story as I did appreciate some parts of the book and the epilogue is very good (incl the bonus epilogue you can grab for free wich is a wonderful edition) but my general feeling is just that it didn’t work for me.
What we have here is a second chance story where we get thrown back into some past happenings to gather the whole story of Jakob and Ethan incl their background, where they came from and how they came to be, who they are now.
The carefully built renewed friendship is sweet to see. The carefulness between them, where as a reader you know there is so much more there.
I have to say from the moment and I am trying to keep vague because of spoilers the student situation came into the story, it did pick up and I loved the found family moments happenings.
Where I am excited to read the next book in the series I am also a bit nervous. Let’s see what Alex his story will bring to the table 🙂
It might not have been my favorite story I am pretty sure as a reader there is lots to love and experience reading this book, enjoy!
