A pop-punk keyboardist carries an unrequited love for his firefighting best friend. With a newfound self-discovery, will their friendship ignite into something more?
Milo Richardson
I was stupid and fell hard for my straight best friend, but he can’t find out. Our friendship is too important to destroy it with my feelings.
When he took a firefighting job two hours away, it made my life easier and I satisfied myself with gig hookups.
Now he’s transferred home and I’m back to where I was, longing for him.
Even if he’s looking at me differently, do I dare take a chance?
Ryder Scott
I’m transferring to a fire department back home to be close to my family and my best friend.
But the guy I hooked up with a few weeks ago is warning me to come clean with Milo and tell him about my questioning.
Am I queer? I’m not sure yet. But Milo’s presence lights an unfamiliar fire.
When did he start captivating me? When did his scent become a craving? More than my heart is taking notice.
Would it be so bad if we became more than friends?
And will he stick around after he graduates college in a few months?
More Than a Spark is the sixth book in the Rock U series and is part of the Mesa Boys universe. This novel features an artistic graphic arts student surrendering to the love he’s kept secret for his firefighting best friend and contains a bisexual awakening, steamy first times and coming out with a backdrop of choosing love or career. It guarantees an HEA and has no cliffhangers. Each book features a different couple and can be read as a standalone or as part of the series in order.
Trigger warning: This book contains themes of prejudice and emotional abuse by a parent.
REVIEW:
I’m a bit sad 😢 I have been so captivated by the guys of Knot Me and I’m sad to see them come to an end.
Milo, the sweet fashionista keyboardist for Knot Me, has a giant, crushing secret. At least he thought he had hidden it well. But when his bestie since the 4th grade, Ryder, is suddenly moving back home from Flagstaff it’s becoming increasingly difficult to hide his true feelings…he love loves him even though his bestie is straight. So it’s time to pull up his big girl lace thongs and try dating. But is everyone else right in seeing what he doesn’t? And is Ryder maybe not so straight as he always thought?
I would say I never saw sweet Milo being such a commanding top coming at all. He definitely surprised me. One moment he’s all sweet and shy. Then let him loose in the bedroom and all bets are off. And those panties. Not usually a lacy thong admirer but they definitely fit his personality to a T! I love his fashion sense. And I truly love that Cash and him clicked so perfectly!!! But Milo and Ryder…that was perfection. They were the ultimate ying to the other’s yang even if Ryder was way behind on them together. I did love that he was willing to sacrifice himself for his Milo. And Milo loves Ryder with all he has. He has loved him forever and he’s not letting Ryder away ever. Ryder is his and he will hold on to him hook, line and sinker now that he has him. I love that Ryder fit in so well with all the band wives and couldn’t wait to be one. And that all the guys accepted Ryder so effortlessly. They knew that Ryder was the one for their sweet Milo.
I will say that Christie had me going for a long, hot second. Milo was getting everything he deserves and I couldn’t stand for it to be ripped away. I stayed up way too late last night because I HAD to know how everything worked out. Sleep wasn’t happening until I knew all my guys were happy and got their HEA’s.
This has been, by far, my favorite and most captivating series in this universe. First off, I’m a huge rock star junkie, so watching these budding stars break through and finally achieving their dreams and making them a reality was great. I love how we have stuck with each of them as they discovered themselves and who they are and what they wanted to become. And who they fell in love with. Each of these rockers were totally themselves and completely different and added their own uniqueness to the mix.
This book was the perfect way to wrap up the Knot Me rocker’s stories. This is a must-read series that I will be visiting again when I need a pick me up. Their stories just clucked with me and captivated my heart. Huge thumbs up 👍
PS: if you were a bit concerned about Archer, the ASU hockey player that wanted to date Milo then I suggest you read this short novella prequel to the next series. Taking a Shot is the intro to Archer and his hockey team roommates. This novella takes us through part of Milo and his brief but steamy time together. I hear that Leo, Axel’s big brother and Remy’s best friend, is going to get featured in Archer’s story. I can’t wait!!!
