BLURB:
When the person you desire is so close, and yet so far.
Sawyer
I’ve been in love with my best friend and roommate since the first day of boarding school over a decade ago. But Preston has always been oblivious, obsessed with his PhD research, and more importantly, straight.
When the new, sexy grad student walks into my gym, I have to wonder… is it time for me to move on?
Preston
Some guy is trying to steal my best friend. I won’t let him. Sawyer’s mine.
Maybe I haven’t appreciated Sawyer enough over the years, but that’s going to change now. I’ll do whatever it takes to keep him by my side. Even if it means kissing him.
Stacked is a best friends to lovers, bi-awakening, nerd/jock MM romance between possessive, protective, and co-dependent roommates. Expect the most tender caretaking, slipping into each other’s beds in the middle of the night, and adorable clinginess. It is the second book in the Mars Fitness series and can be read as a standalone.
REVIEW:
Okay, so I have always been curious about the fun guy at the front desk at Mars Fitness. The very gay friendly gym has been prominent in not only the Mars Fitness books but The Camboy Network series as well and Sawyer always played a key role. Then we discovered that he seemed to have a pretty co-dependent best friend-roommate relationship with Preston and I knew that:
- I needed this story
- That it was going to be a really fun-filled story when I read the blurb.
Turns out that I was right and this book captivated and held my attention the whole time I was reading it. Sawyer has to be the most patient and endearing character I have ever read. His devotion and care for his roommate was so touching. The fact that he knew that it would never be reciprocated and still took such loving care of Preston was so touching. It was pure love that had been there since they first met.
It was hard to see the quirky Fitz become a part of Sawyer’s life. I know Sawyer was trying to do the right thing but Fitz was probably the last person he should hook up with knowing how fragile Preston could be with changes. And Sawyer was oblivious to Fitz being a Preston look-alike replacement for his true love. No, Sawyer would never do something that dishonorable, it just wasn’t him. But he was a bit as clueless as Preston in this minefield of a best friends/roommates/co-dependency they had going on.
I loved Madison and how she had seen forever what was right in front of Sawyer and Preston’s faces…that they were in a relationship but Preston had to finally have his eyes opened and accept what he was discovering. And that was that Sawyer was the only one for Preston. And I loved seeing Preston’s transformation.
I have enjoyed both series surrounding this gym and look forward to more in the future.
