BLURB:
Jack Boers and Hudson James had a wild affair one long weekend many years ago. But their lives were too different then to even think about something more. They’ve kept in touch, meeting up every year when the bull riding tour is in Anaheim to pick up where they left off, and spending every moment Jack isn’t in the arena in bed together.
But this year, Hudson has a plan. He’s in love with Jack, and even though he knows the cowboy has a man at every stop along the tour, he’s decided to ask for more.
Jack is an experienced, handsome cowboy, and he’s earned his reputation as a bad boy. He knows he can have any man he wants. But the last couple of years, he’s been looking forward to seeing Hudson more than he can understand. He’s really not the rambling man he used to be, and he wonders sometimes if there’s anything out there for him once he retires.
When Hudson’s plan backfires, he’s not sure how to handle the situation. Jack is just keeping his head down and working, unable to understand what is, or what’s not, happening between them. Can they figure out their communication issues before the weekend is over? Or will they be left with “see you same time next year”?
Pick Up Man is a second chance, opposites attract romance featuring a smoking hot bull riding pick-up man, and a wealthy entrepreneur.
REVIEW:
When I reviewed Cowboy Protection awhile ago I said I hoped we would get Jack’s HEA someday and that someday is finally here and it definitely did not disappoint!
Jack Boers is the pick up man. The silver Fox on his gorgeous horses that stops the bulls with his roping skills when a bull needs to be contained. He’s Mackey “Mother” Keyes best friend and former friends with benefits buddy. Those two were never a good fit. Mackey was all about a monogamous relationship and Jack had his horndog reputation down flat. A different man in every city was what he lived for. But the one constant was his time in Anaheim with his favorite…Hudson James. That one wild first time years ago was just too good to not look forward to. But things are changing and Jack knows that Hudson is the one he looks forward to meeting up with each year. The others have long faded into the past or were simply a “one and done”! Hudson and him have become friends that text and remember each other’s birthdays and such. Jack just can’t seem to get enough of that sexy entrepreneur. Hudson has recently sold his company and works for them at his own timeline in creating the designs he develops. Now he wants what he has been wanting for awhile now…his sexy as sin cowboy Jack Boers. He just has to figure out how to let Jack in on his plan for the two of them to spend more time together. And maybe, if his real wishes come true, much more???
Jack and Mother (Mackey) have been a staple in the bull riding books. When Mackey and Sid found each other I knew they would stand together through all the good times and the scary ones too. And I knew that Jack would miss his time with Mack but it was time for him to think about settling down. Thankfully he figured out real fast that it was the brilliant hipster from Denver that had rocked his socks for years. And Hudson was all for settling down with his hot cowboy. Jack was everything he dreamed of and he was hell bent on making that silver Fox Pick Up man only his. He just was unsure how to go about it. Thankfully fate played a part and Jack had a bit of a jealous greedy streak when it came to that man. I know that Jack was burned when he was a young cowboy so his level of trusting himself to someone permanently was hard to do. But when that handsome cowboy made up his mind he became super possessive and committed. Hudson was his one!
It took a bit of time to finally get Jack’s story but it was worth the wait. Hudson and Jack worked for me. And they were the perfect next door neighbors for Sid and Mackey. They were all found family now and those cowboys are loyal and protective of their own. They are there when times are hard and kick back and enjoy all together when life goes well. It was great getting to catch up with Mackey and Sid too but Mackey sure does give me and his men a scare from time to time.
I continue to enjoy all these stories and look forward to spending more time with some of my favorite cowboy rescuers in the future.
