Spencer knows he isn’t boy material, so why can’t he resist Nash Brooks?
Nothing in Spencer’s life has ever come easy, including romance. As a side with boundaries too many men have disrespected, he knows having a Daddy of his own isn’t in the cards. Even if he really craves someone to take care of him.
When Nash pushes past his defenses and promises to give Spencer everything he wants, it’s hard to trust but impossible to resist.
Nash is everything he ever wanted but never dared to hope for, but can he really be the boy his Daddy deserves, or is he just holding him back?
REVIEW:
I really enjoyed this book about Spencer and Nash.
Spencer is a nurse and cares for people of River Gorge. Whilst he is a natural caretaker what he really wants is someone to look after him. He wants a Daddy but due to previous Daddies not respecting his boundaries he doesn’t believe he will ever find the right one for him. Doesn’t stop him looking at men though and there is one cowboy in particular that has caught his eye, Nash. Not that Spencer will ever do anything about his crush.
Nash is a Daddy and has given up on ever finding a boy of his own. It’s just a shame the little cutie that lives above the garage and comes to visit Nolan on the Ranch where he works isn’t a boy and isn’t interested in him.
By pure chance both Spencer and Nash end up in a club on Daddy night and maybe this is a sign?
Nash really is the perfect Daddy for Spencer showing patience as he breaks down Spencer barriers and earns his trust.
Spencer was a really likeable, sympathetic character and I felt sad for him that he felt that he would be unable to have a Daddy for himself just because he is a side. The fact that he didn’t instantly succumb to his attraction to Nash added a level of depth to the story for me.
I also really liked the fact that the book was about more than Nash & Spencer fall in love, bang story is done. We get to see more than that about them, like when Spencer is poorly, or the youth club. I also like the fact that we do get glimpses of the previous characters we have met in the River Gorge Series like Tristan and Nolan.
Don’t worry if you haven’t read any of the other books in the series’ (although you should because they are very good) the focus on this book is really on Spencer and Nash and not the side characters whom we have met before.
I am really sad that this is the last book in The Daddies of River Gorge Series but also very excited to read about hot fireman in the next series. One of the firefighters is Keith, Nash’s brother who we meet in this book.
