BLURB:
There’s something about our new landlord, Alec.
Something that I can’t quite place.
He seems familiar, but not. Like maybe I’ve seen him before.
And sure, he’s attractive, strictly objectively speaking. I’m not into dudes.
But he has this intense, piercing stare that I can’t look away from.
Eyes that make me feel like they can see right through me.
Like he knows all my secrets.
And I wish he would share them with me because sometimes I feel like I don’t even really know myself.
But I do know one thing.
I take my responsibilities to my family and friends very seriously.
And when your best friend is gay, you learn to be the best straight wingman at the gay bar you can be.
And if you happen to hook up with a guy once in a while… well, it doesn’t really mean anything.
It’s just a good way to relax and unwind.
But when it’s Alec who turns up, ready and willing to help me “relax”, I know it’s a bad idea but I just can’t resist.
I tell myself just this once. It won’t ever happen again.
Well, maybe just one more time…
REVIEW:
“Tick tock.” that made me laugh out loud!
Jude is straight, if he says it enough he’ll believe it. He loves to suck the what rhymes on above. He does it on a regular basis, as a hobby (his words) It keeps his head clean, or else his brain makes overtime and that’s a bad thing.
Jude and his roommates got a new landlord, a gorgeous guy who looks familiar, but Jude can’t place him. Oh well, he looks great, with a great big… oh well, Jude is still straight.
Most of the time Jude doesn’t know what he’s doing, he tries, but it’s hard for him.
He doesn’t want to lose his sister or his niece and nephews, it’s all he got.
So yeah, without him being aware of it, he’s so far in the closet.
Playing wingman for his friend, (read: Jude finding a D to suck), guess who is also walking into the same bar. Yes guys, Alec, their landlord.
At home said landlord comes over to ‘meet’ Jude.
After one too hot encounter Jude knows it can’t happen again, he needs to find a new hobby.
But maybe first enjoy this hobby, because dang it tastes so good.
Then, we get to know Alec’s POV, omfg, I didn’t expect that! It gets hugely complicated.
While there’s fun, there’s also a lot of hurtful stuff going on. It’s kind of heart-wrenching, my heart hurt, my teeth clenched, you could feel the tension building and building, and wait until it all explodes.
Jude, sweet frightened Jude, when you understand his situation, you understand where all his issues came from. Alec is no different, he also has a story to tell, read it yourself!
Let’s not forget to mention the supportive and protective friends, Ollie my goodness, I loved Jude’s friends, but Ollie was fabulous!
What an eventful story, I loved it very much, all well written, captivating and emotional AF!
