Ashton
I’ve shared an office with Dominic, the grumpy raincloud to my endless sunshine, for three and a half years.
My roommates and colleagues are convinced I’m obsessed with him, and okay, maybe I am slightly curious about what he signed to me at the staff mid-winter party.
Was it one of his normal snarky insults? A limerick? Directions to the nearest coffee shop?
But am I ready to discover what Dominic actually wants to say to me?
Love Language is a 13,000 word light and fluffy MM novella featuring a cantankerous computer programmer and a bubbly marketing assistant who unexpectedly learn that in the silence of gestures, love speaks the loudest.
REVIEW:
This was a very short, very sweet book with no angst. I sat down and read it in about 45 minutes and it left me smiling from ear to ear. Sometimes I need a story like this to recharge my batteries, especially after reading something heavy.
Ashton and Dominic are adorable. There’s nothing I love more than flirting disguised as snarky banter and these two men are experts at it. They have a group of friends and colleagues who are cheering them on and catch on to their attachment to one another long before Ashton does.
There is a little bit of steam to this story but not too much! It didn’t take over the whole story and that was wonderful because the humor and sass were an absolute joy and it would have been a shame to lose any of it.
There isn’t too much I can say without spoiling the story because at 13000 words it was just long enough to be satisfying. It wasn’t a new journey but the trip was still very enjoyable.
I’m going to see what else I have by Jay Calder in my to-be-read pile!
