I’ve never shied away from the hard things in life. But falling in love with Lux… EASY has never felt so good.
Most of the guys on Palm Island call me the token straight guy. The truth is, I’m not so much straight as I’m just… nothing. Asexual, demi, the label doesn’t make much of a difference to me. And living on an island that’s nothing but parties and nudity half the year… well, let’s put it this way… I’m the guy who sells clothes.
As long as I have Easy, everything else is a day on the beach.
I didn’t think anything could ever change things between us… but that was before I saw the tape.
It’s like seeing him that way flipped a switch in my brain. Now it’s all I can see when I close my eyes. It’s all I can hear. I think I want the real thing…
It’s the middle of the season which means nothing but beach parties, theme weeks, and all of the insanity that comes with the six months of Palm Island being overrun by tourists flooding our shops from dawn to dusk.
Can Easy and I figure things out in the middle of all this chaos? Or are we just building a sandcastle that’s bound to get washed away with the tide?
REVIEW:
Book 5 in the Palm Island series by Ms. K.M. Neuhold where our beautiful boys are finding their partners as supposedly approved by the island’s ghosts and its founders. Palm Island is paradise. And we have our regular residents Angel and Devil, Ten and Bambi, Hen and Storm, Trick and Boston, Goose and Pete, and Raven. Now it is time for our best friends to get their own story. I have always been intrigued about the back story of Lux and Easy (Lucas and Ethan).
They have been best friends since they were kids. They have been through so much together, so when Easy decided to move to Palm Island several years back, Lux just followed his best friend, no questions asked. Now they each have their own businesses and for the six months when the island is in season, they are literally up at dawn (well Easy is) to cater to the needs of the island visitors, the upside is, they get the other six months off where they can just frolic and enjoy the beauty and quiet of the island.
They have always had each others’ backs ever since, but this season feels especially different from all those other seasons in the island. Easy doesn’t really feel the need to hook up as much or at all. Lux has been following his lead always but Lux has never been comfortable with any sexual liaisons, he is asexual, or so he thought. When their real feelings for each other started to surface, both of them starts to look at each other more deeply, the friendship will never be gone, they have known each other too long for that to happen. Although Easy hooked up a lot, it was always just for fun, no heart involved. And when he does bring someone to their house, that hook up sleeps in the couch while Easy and Lux sleeps on the bed, always.
When their friends arranged for all of them to watch a video of Easy (in the early days lol), and especially when he said something at the end and Lux saw it, Lux started to picture having all those with Easy, only with Easy.
Lux starts to feel “more” possessive and protective of Easy, this season particularly and starts to acknowledge that he really does feel more for Easy than just friendship. When they start to explore all these newfound feelings it’s as if the stars are finally aligning and pieces starts to fit. Easy has been in love with his best friend for a long time but he understands that Lux will maybe never feel like that for him but he will take whatever he can if it means Lux will always be in his life.
Ms. K.M. Neuhold’s books have always been sweet and beautiful, ever since I started with Four Bears Construction, I have been in love with all her boys. Lux and Easy have a long history together, and I am so happy that they are finally together as partners and in love. I cannot wait for the next book in the series which I am sure a lot of the readers are waiting for. Congratulations Ms. Neuhold for another amazing read!
