My death day is sacred. I spend it the same way I wish I could spend every day: alone in my isolated cabin, with a glass of wine in one hand and a book in the other. But when the scent of human blood shatters my solitude, I find James—unflappable, undeniably gorgeous, and utterly unafraid of me. He makes my blood boil and he stirs desires dormant for over a century. I must protect him, even if it costs me everything.
James
In the wake of my father’s passing, I go to our secluded camping spot in the mountains to scatter his ashes. It’s almost a full day’s hike from civilization and I expected to grieve alone. I never dreamed I’d get stranded by a freak snowstorm or that I’d be attacked by wolves. I certainly never imagined I’d meet someone like Pierce, the grumpy, overprotective, and annoyingly handsome vampire who saves my life. Now, snowed in and surrounded on all sides by the werewolves determined to turn me into one of them, my only protection is the vampire I’m inexplicably falling in love with.
Snowed in with the Vampire Prince is a 36,000-word fated mates novella with an HEA, instalove, a fair amount of hurt/comfort, and no cliffhanger. This is book 1 in the Blood Bonded Mates series. This book contains mild violence, strong language, spicy scenes between men, and passages depicting consensual blood drinking, as one might expect from a MM vampire romance.
REVIEW:
A brand new book and series by a first time author…how exciting!
Pierce just wants to be left alone. It’s his death day and it’s sacred to him. And it’s an über important one too…100 years to be exact from that dreadful night. Thank goodness “Nathaniel is the vampire king of Seattle, and I am his only progeny, which technically made me a prince” saved him just as he was he dying from the homophobic attack. But a rogue group of werewolves are on the prowl and he rescues the silly human, up camping in the late blizzard, just before their alpha turns him against his will. Not how he planned his time at all! And why does the human smell so damn pleasant and is obviously into him and could careless if he’s a vampire because he views vampires, at least the ones he has meet so far, as heroes?
I loved how brave, yes very foolish but brave, that James was and how he perplexed the stoic Pierce. I don’t think I’ve read where humans can drink some of their mates blood and suddenly be able to mind speak. Or that they could also live together forever and not be changed. Cool twist.
If there was anything I would have liked to happen was to know more about how James and Pierce proceed. We literally got them for a little over 24 hours and there’s a lot to work out.. I don’t know if we will be visited by them in the next book or not but I hope 🤞 we get more of their story. I am wondering if Nathaniel’s story is next since his prince found his one.
This was a very quick read and captured my attention immediately. I have found that I really, really like the vampire books I’ve read and this series will now be added to my “must read” list.
