Book seven in the It’s a Kink Thing series
One video will change everything.
Wherever Isthmus and Rowes go, a horde of reporters follow, as they try to catch a snippet of everyone’s favorite actors from the hit television show Gunlover. They are best friends— sharing the screen together, along with a home and hotel rooms. But one fan video changes their lives forever when it accuses them of being in a D/s relationship.
Rowes is straight, and Isthmus can’t imagine that his best friend is kinky, but his thoughts keep straying to the video. As they start to get closer and the boundaries between them fall, they try to resist the inescapable pull of kink and passion.
REVIEW:
“His romantic feelings had lasted all of twenty minutes for Rowes. One laugh together and he knew that he never wanted to risk losing their friendship.”
This sums up their relationship, they are best friends and co-actors, they share rooms and beds, in fact, they share every minute together.
The fan media wants them to be a couple, they are not! Rowes is straight, Izzy not, but that’s not the point.
That same media published a video where they want to prove both guys are in a D/s relationship.
Rowes doesn’t even know what this means, Izzy does, but that’s not the point.
When they watch that video together something stirs in Izzy. Dang, he’s instantly aware of their dynamic, his behavior, and Rowen’s reactions, he follows Izzy directions so naturally.
Izzy can’t believe he didn’t see the signs.
Both are curious and as best friends they visit a kink club, to explore. Izzy has been there before, and it’s Rowes’ first time. They can’t start something sexually, there are work contracts.
Very cautiously they start a D/s relationship without any sexual interaction.
They can do that! No, they can’t, or can they?
In Izzy’s head, this picture worked quite differently, it seems they are both rookies. Thankfully there’s the kink community who are a wonderful addition to their journey.
I think I was as confused as they were, it was good but maybe a bit messy, lines blurred and I asked myself, what are they? Best friends with benefits but without the benefits? Was it one-sided? Was it love in a romantic way or a loving friendship, I didn’t know what to think anymore. It looked as it was clear, but it didn’t feel like it. While typing this and still not finished the story, I had to laugh, I did sound silly confused.
It was a lovely journey, step by step the framework became clearer ditto with their relationship.
I loved the learning curve from both of them.
Overall an intriguing read, with lovely characters and an original plot.
