Is it a teen prank or a misguided attempt to heal a broken heart?
“Hi! I’m Dr. Dream, and I’m probably the hottest guy you’ll ever meet. I have silver hair, but I’m young at heart. I have lots of fans, but I’m looking for my Number One. Is it you, younger guy? Hit me up!”
ER Deputy Chief Stone Dooley gets the surprise of his life when he learns his twin daughters have signed him up for a gay dating site without his knowledge, three years after he becomes a widower.
What is supposed to be a quick drink and an apology for his daughters’ prank turns into a tentative friendship and an agreement to swap services—Stone will take care of the younger man’s ailing grandfather, if the younger guy will help out with childcare for his daughters over the summer.
Twists and turns test their blossoming friendship. Grief, loss, secrets, and a threat to tear his family apart test Stone’s limits to his breaking point.
What is the key to weathering the storms heading in Stone’s direction? Maybe a blond-haired young man with jade green eyes can crack the Heart of Stone?

REVIEW:
Stone Dooley has no idea what to do. His preteen twin daughter has signed his lonely heart up on a gay men’s dating app. And the guy she set him up on a date with has taken down his profile. Now he has to go meet the much younger and very attractive “date” and explain his situation. Although the meet up started off rough Theo and Stone managed to talk and have a nice dinner. When Theo’s beloved Grandfather Gerald has a stroke Stone steps in and then arranges a mutual assistance to each other. Stone will take care of the ailing grandfather’s medical needs and Theo will be manny to his girls. Win-Win situation for all. That is until those pesky feelings start up and his Heart of Stone began to thaw.
Megan and Maddy made this book for me. Their love of their Daddy and knowing how much he loved and missed their Papa was so sweet. But those two were a handful for sure. The “kicking” scene and how Stone was trying to be so careful and professional in his care of Theo after all the mess of the girls “doctoring” poor Theo. That was when I was sure that once Stone thawed his Heart of Stone they could make it happen.
I know it’s not good to think I’ll of the dead but Barron just left a sour taste in my mouth. I know Stone loved him dearly but I believe he put him high on a pedestal and left him there after his death. But his choice of friends, at Stone’s expense, really didn’t sit well with me at all. Ben Cohen was a weaselly piece and Barton’s lack of judgement on him and their fooling around, even if they weren’t officially exclusive, showed me that Barron always thought of himself first and foremost. And I understand that Dixie and Barron became best friends and that Stone and her weren’t but that “arrangement” Barron made really was a low blow. Not consulting your partner on something that important wasn’t cool. Also confiding in Hope, Stone’s Mom, and making her keep his secrets was wrong in so many ways. The blows that kept mounting up really made me dislike the guy.
This series is based on May-December relationships but are unrelated and easily read as a stand-alone.
