Ethan and Trevor aren’t just friends, they are best friends AND roommates. So naturally, when the epidemic hit and lockdown happened, they were both glad to be living together. The only downside of the forced stay-cation was, no contact with anyone else. Which meant, no women and no sex.
When Trev catches Ethan having a solo session on the couch, he shocks him by opting to join in. This opens Ethan’s eyes to a whole new world of possibilities.
What are two friends to do but help each other out, right? The only issue is, Trev is secretly in love with Ethan.
Will Trev risk revealing his feelings and possibly jeopardize their friendship? Will Ethan end their arrangement after lockdown is lifted or will he find hidden desires he never knew he had?
Find out in Lockdown Frustration, a steamy MM erotic romance novel by Jacklyn Fox.
Lockdown Frustration is a 36,000 word spicy friends to lovers story. It is heavy on the erotica with a HEA and no cliffhangers.
REVIEW:
I love getting to discover new authors. And if you are looking for a book that’s major emphasis is erotica then this might just be the book for you.
Trevor has known he was bisexual for years but didn’t see a reason to put himself out there and vulnerable unless he found a man he wanted to be with. Why would you put yourself at risk? Especially when in high school when it could become dangerous or isolating. So he just kept it to himself. Then one day he heads to the bathroom to get cleaned up after his workout at the gym and discovers his roommate and long-time best friend Ethan, who wasn’t suppose to even be home, masturbating in the shower with his eyes closed and head thrown back in ecstasy. Now he can quit thinking about him and has developed a massive crush on his very straight friend. Fast forward six months and the two are literally locked in their house during the Covid Lockdown. One morning Trevor wakes up and stumbles upon Ethan watching porn on their big screen tv in the lounge. When he sits down and starts acting on his own it is the start of new eyes wide open for both men. But is this because of the lack of getting some because of Lockdown Frustration or is this a self recovery to new things to come?
I liked both these men. They were nice young men who obviously cared about each other. They were both so cautious and afraid to lose their best friend that they were afraid to say anything after that initial experience. And I was so proud that Ethan was the one that finally spoke up and got things really going. He may have just discovered something new about himself that he labeled “Trev-sexual” however he wasn’t afraid to act on it or voice his needs and hopes to Trev. But the bottom line is that this forced proximity awakened a need that they didn’t even know they had. I will say that this is one of the more erotic books I have read in awhile and the author came up with quite a few adventurous scenes for these new lovers.
The down side to this book is two parts. First being was that it seriously needs an editor and proofreaders. There are so many grammar mistakes and misspelling/wrong spelling of words or wrong words/incomplete spelling of words. Apostrophes were missing all over the place and it simply needs a major cleaning up. The second problem was that the constant changing of whose mind you are in and thoughts that are being projected was confusing when the characters jumped back and forth from paragraphs to paragraphs. Like I said, investment in an editor is critical and proofreaders or betas are also so badly needed. I rounded up my rating because I did like the story’s premise and the guys were good together. It was just that the “finished product” was quite a bit of a mess and not a finished book ready for publication.
