A small town offers more than an opportunity to start again.
Adam is running from a bad breakup, severing bonds with the pack of his birth. He heads to the small town of Creekside to set down new roots. He wants to pick up some odd electrical jobs to support himself, and he wants to be left alone.
There are two wolf packs in the area, but Adam has no intention of joining either one. That is until he catches the scent of his fated mate lingering on a new friend. He struggles against the need he feels for him. He wants to run to him but doesn’t want a mate. Especially this one.
Lucas is reeling from the loss of his chosen mate and unborn pup. He’s the leader of his pack and he needs to make sure his family’s electrical business continues to thrive. An Omega interloper threatens to disrupt the customer relationships they’ve been nurturing for three generations.
As the Alpha leader, Lucas knows he needs to chase the Omega wolf out of town. The business will suffer if he stays in Creekside. Only one problem. He wants him. He fights the urge to go after him and claim him even though his inner wolf is screaming, “Fated mate!”
Will two rivals be able to put their differences aside and submit to their fate?
REVIEW:
Wow! A lot of story was packed in this short book/novella.
Adam has left his home and pack in the big city to get away from the pain of being dumped by his claimed alpha. He just couldn’t handle the constant chatter in their pack telepathic connection. It ramped up his anxiety disorder to non-bearable levels. So now he was on his own and headed to the tiny town of Creekside Township to start up his one-man electrician business. He knew that there was another electrician company in town but they should be busy with all the new construction in the area. He just needed the small jobs that they didn’t want/need. What he wasn’t expecting was that company was owned by one of the two local packs leaders and he wasn’t happy. Lucas was still reeling from the loss of his chosen mate who died during birth of their pup. The pup didn’t make it either. And now a lone wolf shows up and is challenging his business. A wolf that he has figured out is his fated mate. But when his older alpha brother wants his mate he draws the line. Adam is his and that’s it. But can he keep his new mate safe when violence from the East side pack is going to happen. His new mate that he just figured out is pregnant with his pup.
This may have been a quick read but there was nothing left unsaid. Yes, these two were fast when they finally decided to stop resisting what fate had chosen but that is how fated mates are. Usually it puts the omega into immediate heat and alpha into a rut. And surprise…birth control is practically ineffective when it comes to fated mates. And the gestation period is quite fast. I was saddened at the outcome for Lucas’ brother Bryant but what the heck was he thinking? I get that both of Lucas’s brothers were highly attracted to him. Duh it’s a tiny town and this gorgeous un-mated omega just arrived in town. But once you realize he’s your brother’s fated mate and you try to bed him…just ewwww!
I really liked this new series and can’t wait for more to come. Luckily this new-to-me author isn’t making us wait for the next book. I am hoping the next book in the series is Jonas, Lucas’ horny omega brother. That omega needs his own fated mate STAT!
