Can a visit to a secret garden in Chicago give two men what they have been seeking—a relationship that fulfills both their needs?
Finding a job after his discharge from the army proves an easy task for Weston Forrester.
Finding a ‘boy’? Yeah, not so much. Until he meets Matty, who is all kinds of sweet, but needs time.
So Weston keeps it light, waiting for Matty to trust him.
Matty Bevan is a magnet for cheaters and liars, and Weston seems too good to be true, even if he does give off ‘Daddy’ vibes. But each encounter draws Matty closer. His heart on the line, he asks his best friend for help. Only things don’t quite go according to plan.
A cute little fox is about to get his Christmas wish—except it’s more than he bargained for.
A Little Christmas! Matty’s Secret is part of A Little Christmas: Season Two 2023 multi-author series with themes loosely based on the classic book A Secret Garden. Each book in A Little Christmas is a standalone. But each boy is silly, unique, lovable, and downright adorable, so why not read them all.
REVIEW:
Matty is having a hard time, all he wants is a kind loving relationship like his friend and housemate Gaines and his Daddy Austin have. Instead, his cheating ex Peter still works for the same company as he does and so does the guy he cheated with and they like to cause him grief. To make himself feel better he has decided to explore the cities secret gardens. A “little” picnic with his favourite fox ears on will always work to cheer him up.
Weston has recently been discharged from the army and needs to find a job to fill his time. Fortunately, his friend Austin is recruiting for his security company and Weston fits the role specification perfectly
On one of his regular runs, Weston comes across a cute Little with fox ears on that completely enamours him. Soon they are meeting regularly at the park. When Matty doesn’t have his fox ears on one day he knows something must have happened and how to cheer him up.
Add in some meddling friends, an ex that needs to be dealt with by a security firm and you have a very cute Daddy, Little story and a sweet happy ever after.
I have not read all the rest of the books in the series or all of JP Sayles prior works, but I get the feeling that Austin and Gaines and the other featured couple Terrence and Warner have had books of their own. Having looked online I cannot figure it out either. Not knowing their stories really did not affect my overall enjoyment of the book. It was more I would like to read their stories as well.
The characters in this book are nicely written and the story flowed well. If I had, had the time I probably would have read this in one sitting just because it was a sweet, easy, comfortable read that made me feel the warm and fuzzies. Would go well with a big comfy chair, a blanket a cup of hot chocolate.
