BLURB:
Jameson Rudolph is not the red-nosed reindeer, thank you. He’s a flight trainer for Santa’s reindeer, and he’s tired of all the reindeer games the new recruits are up to this year. So when he gets a notice that it’s time for a mandatory vacation, he decides to hit the road and go off the grid for some relaxation. His fellow reindeer seem to want to go somewhere warm, but not Jameson. He wants to go somewhere cold that doesn’t have twinkly lights and perfectly manicured candy cane trees…
Roe deer shifter Magnus loves his home in the Scottish Highlands, and he’ s keeps it by renting out the antique cottage on his property as a vacation home to other shifters. Every so often it gets awkward when a predator thinks he might be tasty, but he’s a roebuck who can take care of himself despite his small size. When he delivers muffins to Jameson Rudolph, though, it’s more than awkward. It’s hot as heck, and Mags decides to see if James is interested in a little holiday fling. But when it turns to more, will they be able to handle it?
Rudolph is the ninth book in the multi-author M/M Shifter Mpreg Christmas romance series Mated at the North Pole, featuring Santa’s reindeer, who find their mates while on a mandatory vacation. Rudolph features a grumpy sunshine pair with a smaller studly mate and a larger pregnant partner.
REVIEW:
Yay! Another visit to Christmas Village and one of the Santa’s heritage reindeer’s mandiriry vacation stories.
Rudolph may not have a nose as red as his umpteenth grandfather but it’s a fact that he’s in his lineage with his pink nose. And a bone of contention for the teasing he has endured over the years. And he might not be leading Santa #15’s team but he’s a very good but burned out flight trainer. When his Santa sends him the mandatory vacation notice, that’s been circulating to the heritage reindeers, he books a vacation far from the Christmas cheer and reindeer games in the perfect Christmas Village. So off to the tiny Scottish Highland village his best friend Link told him about. But what if he never wants to go back? And what’s with that touch that Magnus gave him that buzzed for hours afterwards?
I do love when a ray of sunshine can turn around a grump. And who doesn’t love a bit of reversal when the alpha is smaller and takes command of his larger omega. Sparks definitely flew between these two. Plus Magnus’s advice to the tired and worn out James was spot on and the perfect solution for the two fated mates.
I did enjoy that the author spoke about how even reindeer slow down with age and change is natural. It allows for new adventures/challenges that leads the way for younger reindeer to advance and seasoned reindeer to try different paths.
This has been a truly magical series that I have thoroughly enjoyed and recommend.
