LENGTH: 179 pages
RELEASE DATE: November 18, 2023
BLURB:
When Fynn invented the ‘CadoBox, he didn’t think it would change his life. Make some money? Sure. Fund his own laboratory? Hell, yeah. But not get him almost kidnapped, and land him with a six-foot-six bodyguard shadowing his every move. Fynn doesn’t handle changes well. Having Nolan looming over him has his nerves on edge and his motormouth running. If only the big man wasn’t so damned hot.
Nolan’s owned his security firm for five years. He’s protected many clients. None of them dragged him into their lab and lectured him on avocado offgassing. And none of them seemed as oblivious of both their danger and their attractiveness as Fynn. Bodyguards shouldn’t fall for their clients, but it’s not “falling” to vow no one’s getting near Fynn on his watch.
An opposites-attract, size-difference, bodyguard action romance with an ADHD scientist and the man determined to keep him safe.
Content warning for abduction, violence.
REVIEW:
I wish this book was true because I would absolutely buy the ‘CadoBox and the new device they are developing to take to the store with me in a heart beat. I would save the cost of it on all the rotten avocados I waste in a year! Someone needs to invent this thing ASAP!!!
Fynn doesn’t understand why anyone would want to kidnap him. He knows he’s a bit of a challenge to even his brother Micah, who is ten years older and got stuck raising his nerdy teen brother after their parent’s death. Yes, his invention is successful but kidnapping??? Why? And a bodyguard? What the heck? The man is a mountain at 6 foot six and built like a brick wall. Thankfully Nolan Stone is also an understanding guy and figures out real fast that Fynn is a brainiac but clueless in real world issues. When a second kidnap attempt is foiled Fynn is a mess and all of Nolan’s protective nature towards the sweet cutie kick into overdrive. But can a science geek and a security specialist/bodyguard come together over more than nightmares and guacamole?
Nolan and Fynn somehow just work. I think it was how sweet, innocent, nerdy Fynn needed Nolan and his care as much as Nolan’s natural need to nurture and protect kicked on as soon as Fynn entered his life. His willingness to indulge Fynn when he went into his scientific ramblings was key. But deep down Fynn touched something on Nolan that literally flipped his need button. And they said it best when Nolan said they fit and save each other. They were the real deal. Obvious opposites that fit together like ying and yang ☯️
I really enjoyed this fast, sweet romance with a touch of danger and big feels. I know this is an idea generated by Kaje’s fans of her shorts she gives to her followers and they were right to demand it. A big thumbs up for Nolan and Fynn, the avocado guy 🥑
