REVIEW:
This holiday series from RJ Peterson is just so adorable. I am self admittedly not a huge fan of holiday stories, but I thoroughly enjoyed this first book in the SEAsons of Love series. It can be hard to get a feel for a story when it’s not very long. With this story all the key elements I look for, a well-rounded, well written story, were incorporated brilliantly. As this is the first of four books in this series, RJ sets the stage for the next three books. Most of the worldbuilding encompasses the cruise ship and how each member of the books’ cast experience cruising. Building the characters and how they fit into the story, is mostly done by the dialogue between the cast of the book. Which requires less build up and more immediate action, as well as the ability to relate to the characters more quickly. What I really loved about this book was how beautifully the background details and scenes are written. Bart and Jack are such sweet and adorable characters. You can’t help but root for them from their first meet cute.
“Bart,” Coop looked at him. “This is Jack Forrest. Jack, this is our friend, Bart Chadwick.”
“Pleased to meet you,” Bart reached out his hand. “I’m sorry, did Coop say your name is Jack Frost?”
“Um, no. Forrest,” Jack clearly annunciated his name. “But that’s what a lot of the kids called me when I was growing up. It all started because my younger brother had a hard time saying our last name.” Jack shook his head. “Forgive me, I’m rambling. It’s nice to meet you, too.” Bart saw the blush rise on Jack’s cheeks. He’s adorable.
You get an instant feel for all the characters and for the unsung hero of the story – Gabriel. This book is just a warm cozy blanket on a cold winters’ night. RJ did not skimp on the sexy times either. Pretty hot and steamy if you ask me.
If you were a fan of the The Love Boat TV show, then you are going to love this book and series. I can’t wait to get my eyes on the next book in this series. Luckily for all of us, we don’t have to wait to long for the next book to be released. Do yourself a huge favor and run to your favorite eBook purchasing site and grab this book. You won’t regret it.
