I earned the captaincy fair and square, but Caden Jones doesn’t see it that way. He’s challenging my authority at every turn and bringing discord to the team that’s held together with duct tape and hope.
Caden is set to ruin our chances this year just to show everyone what a terrible leader I am.
Besides, he’s been preoccupied with kissing guys all semester long. Not that I have a problem with that, exactly. But does he have to do it right under my nose?
An out-of-state game has us stranded in a hotel room. While that’s annoying as hell, the final straw is the mix up that leaves us with only one bed.
Years of rivalry and quiet resentment finally come to boiling and one of us isn’t leaving this hotel room alive. Until big words are said. And crazy actions taken. And we’re no longer fighting, even if it sort of looks like a wrestling match.
Turns out, I’ve got no problem with Caden kissing guys when I’m the guy he kisses. But… I’m straight, right?
REVIEW:
Book three of the latest series from Hayden Hall, Arctic Titans of Northwood U, which is the story of Caden and Beckett.
Beckett is the new Captain of the Titans, when all this time Caden thought he would be the right one. A Big Blow to his ego, right? And what makes Beckett more worthy of the title when he hasn’t been a good example to the team for the last year or so? Caden’s resentment grew more as all these played out. When before anger was barely out of the surface, Caden’s rage now is palpable. And everyone in the team can feel it which is resulting to division and lack of inspiration to play when their two best players are always at odds.
Caden and Beckett have to find a way to get along because their teammates have given them the ultimatum of being kicked out if they do not. And they really mean it, they have run out of patience and motivation to win. And they have the most important game of their lives coming up.
As Caden and Beckett agree to a truce, they started to learn about each other, and the more they know about each other the “forced truce” becomes a real truce, then becomes friendship. Their preconceived notions about each other slowly disintegrates as they start to learn the real person behind. As they spend more time together, they realize that they can get along for real, they just needed to push aside all these resentment because I think it boiled down to professional jealousy only, all because of hockey, being recognized as great players.
Feelings started to surface. But Beckett is straight right? Then how can he start having feelings for Caden? Especially when Caden flaunts his flirting and kissing under his nose? He didn’t recognize jealousy until he got to kiss Caden himself and realized that he wanted Caden to only kiss him. He couldn’t get enough of Caden.
When Caden and Beckett started to spend more time together, secretly, it became a relationship albeit a secret one but still. But when real and heavy feelings started to surface, Caden couldn’t fathom going back into the closet, even for Beckett so even though he thought it was unfair to Beckett, he told Beckett that they couldn’t continue like they were. A day before their biggest game in the season.
Mr. Hayden Hall, you are an amazing writer! I want to congratulate you for another bestseller book and series. I love Beckett and Caden and all the other guys in the team, they are supportive and friends, real good friends.
