Chen traveled to the US with his clan, hoping to rescue his kidnapped brother from the fae.
They just need a witch to find the exact location of where the door between the human world and the fae world will open.
The one thing Moon can’t do.
Chen grabbed the wrong type of witch.
That’s not stopping Moon from clinging to Chen as he guides them through a new territory, introducing them to the witches, shifters, and vampires who can help them.
The longer Moon remains at Chen’s side, the more he hopes the witch might consider staying with him always.
Except that the king of the fae might have other deadly plans for Chen.
REVIEW:
This is a spinoff series from Lords of Discord by Ms. Jocelynn Drake. You might remember King Aiden and his sons, Marcus, Rafe, Bel and Winter. This new series is about a new Vampire clan coming into America to save their kidnapped brother from the fae who took him a decade ago. The first book introduces us to Chen Bo Cheng and his clan which consists of his older brother, Daniel and his brothers and sisters. And of course we have our beloved Moon Mullins, a Blood Witch, who was mistakenly taken by Chen while he was on a night out at Phoenix, the club owned by Rafe Varik.
Moon is a blood witch but what Chen and his clan need is an Earth Witch, which in this case would be Mad and Red. When he was told why the clan needed an Earth Witch and after learning the reason why, Moon called in his friends to help. After being berated for not telling them where he was, his good friends performed the spell in order to locate where the door would be opening during Moving Day.
Meanwhile the attraction building between Moon and Chen cannot be denied. At first Moon only wanted to make Chen smile or laugh but after spending more time together, these two have formed a special bond that now poses a bigger issue, what happens when they are able to rescue their brother and they have to go back to China? What happens to Chen and Moon, to their friendship (or has it become more in such a short time?)?
But as we all know, things don’t normally come easy for these guys. Chaos ensues as soon as the door opened what with the King of the faes declaring that everything that moves must die(even those fools who thought of welcoming these creatures). Chen and his clan members began fighting, Moon dispensing spells here and there. Outnumbered and injured, they had to retreat and regroup. But they have also become the hunted.
A very exciting start to a new series Ms. Jocelynn Drake, Congratulations! This book promises excitement, so much love, sassiness, snark, meddling family, friends (Vampires, Shifters and Witches), friendship and so much more. Thank you Ms. Jocelynn Drake for giving us all these wonderful characters that we can’t help but fall in love with. I am looking forward to Two Thousand Tears and more.
