I’m not one for rules, but Don’t Bang Your Stepbro is kind of a no-brainer.
Until I wake up naked in a Vegas hotel room with my stepbrother, Beckett, each of us with a hell of a hangover and a matching wedding ring.
We’ve already made a huge mistake, so what’s the point in denying what’s been simmering between us for ages?
Might as well enjoy the honeymoon, right?
But what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. Or at least, it’s supposed to.
With a hometown of family and friends who see us as brothers, not lovers, we have to find a way back to who we were before this snafu. But some boundaries can’t be uncrossed.
You don’t bang your stepbro, but maybe…maybe when he’s your husband…you do.
Don’t Bang Your Stepbro is Book 3 of the Rules We Break series about a group of friends in a quirky small town. There will be gossip, innuendo, and nosy neighbors who will put these stepbros and their secrets to the test!
REVIEW:
Note: This is the third book in the series and contains major spoilers for the first two books. In my opinion it’s best read in series order.
Our story begins as Wes and Beckett awaken with hangovers after a night of hard drinking in Las Vegas. When the room stops spinning, it seems they both have on wedding rings and flashes of a prank turned real wedding. Wes talks Beckett into enjoying their “honeymoon” before they have to head back home. Seems they sent a video to folks back home that has their small town up in arms – particularly Wed’s dad/Beck’s stepdad.
Beckett is particularly uptight. First because it was his idea to get married for real and also because he is worried about how this will impact their family. Beck has never really felt like he belonged. His first stepdad left, so he has real trust issues that he’s ever really be part of a family. He continues to feel like the outsider in his own home. He and Beck have been besties forever. They live together, work together, play together. But Beck has real feelings for Wes and he doesn’t know what to do with them. He doesn’t want this change to affect their life, work and their friendship.
Wes is very possessive of Beck. He doesn’t want him to date anyone else and he wants their relationship to continue in this new form. He is very dominating with Beck and he is suprisingly forceful when it comes to their physical relationship. The more Beck tries to keep things as their were, the more Wes pushes for this newfound relationship. The truth is that these two really do belong together. Their relationship is now what it was meant to be.
Oh my! These boys were so sweet! Wes is so protective of Beckett. He knows that still waters run deep. Beckett feels like the outsider even in his own family and after a long time – even though Wes tells him he’s an honorary Potter anyway. Beck is also protective of Wes, trying to make sure that he doesn’t lose out with his father and the family business he’s spent his whole life working for and assuming that he would take over. Wes’s father is so focused on his reputation and what he perceives as Wes’s irresponsible and questionable behavior rather than all the work he’s put in over the years. Beck is determined not to be the reason that Wes doesn’t get what he’s earned. The MCs of the previous books figure fairly large in this story. Laurie in particular is ever so helpful as he is able to see through Beck’s subterfuge and understand that he has really. I loved how their friends and family came around to accepting them as a couple. But my favorite thing about this was how Beckett finally feels like a member of the family at long last. This was very sweet, sexy and steamy. I absolutely love this town and their quirky inhabitants. Highly recommended. This series is a DELIGHT!
