BLURB:
An omega with magical amnesia. An Alpha betrothed to another. Disruption in the Seelie Court.
Lycan is an omega hurt and on the run from . . .well he doesn’t even know that. He knows little to nothing, except that he’s lucky Seath is the one who finds him. Seath is the Pack Legate, the next Alpha of the NorthWest Pack; a rich and powerful pack full of humans, witches, shifters, and even a vampire, among a few other magical creatures. They take the abused omega in, and it starts to feel as if Lycan is exactly where he is supposed to be, even if he still has to put together who he actually is.
Betrothed by fate to another, Seath struggles with the intense attraction he feels pulling him toward the little wolf who needs to heal a lot more than just his broken bones. Of course, there are a million other things to keep him busy and keep the Pack thriving, not the least of which is a Pack Alpha with other duties, leaving Seath in charge of the Pack more often than not—even in the beginning of a mysterious unrest among the Fae.
But Fate wants her say, too, and as the spell-induced bonds on Lycan’s mind start to unravel, Seath and Lycan have to decide if they choose each other.
REVIEW:
I have become a huge fan of this author through her Mann family in the Bear Valley series. This appears to be her debut novel into the paranormal/shifter world.
Lycan is so lucky that the handsome Alpha Legate of the pack lands he ran into found him. Death was literally wait for him when he was found and rescued. And the NorthWest pack is more than he could have ever hoped for. They are so welcoming and wanted to help him in any way possible to help him unravel the magic that is blocking him from remembering who he really is and what he had escaped. Seath doesn’t understand this intense pull that originally lead him to the near-death sifter with no scent. And discovering some kind of strong magic was blocking Lycan from his memories. And now his wolf wants the sweet omega and knows he’s his fated mate but that can’t be because he’s already betrothed to his human fated mate, Prince Donovan. The astrologer foresaw it. How can this be???
This story really pushed my boundaries on magic and paranormal creatures alike. It took me a bit to get comfortable with what was happening, who/what with all the different paranormal characters were, what thei safety mechanisms are and then finally let the story overtake me. But when it did I found myself not wanting to set this book down. With me not being fully understanding of some of the dynamics of the characters and the different things going on I sometimes wish, in books like this that I tend to tease my limits, the authors would give a glossary of what the different things are for us less “in the know” readers. Several times I just had to stop and google what I was reading because I seriously had no clue what I was reading.
I have to say that this doesn’t feel like the end of this story. It feels more like the beginning of a series. However there is no mention of another book. But it kinda left us on a bit of cliffhanger. What’s up with Greene, now that he left the NorthWest Pack in his now-former pack legate’s capable hands. And what is with Teller, his bodyguard and Evan, his assistant? And I really want to find out how Seath and his his Alpha-Mate/fated mate are doing after everything is revealed. Especially after that “blessing” by Titania, the Seelie Queen bestowed upon them. So yes, I recommend this book and found I was enchanted by it’s magic!
