What another wild ride from K.C. Wells. I am seriously loving this series. Which leads me to my usual speech – you must read this series in order, as the books build on each other. These types of procedurals have become a favorite of mine. I love the addition of someone who has a special gift that can help solve these cold cases.
The worldbuilding in this one is taken up a notch with the addition of solving cold cases. But who better than our resident psychic Dan to help Gary work out these long-gone cold mysteries. The universe is still centered around Boston, but we get a look at the world of the rich and famous in this one. Nothing like adding in a glimpse into the life of Cape Cod families. With the addition of a few more plot driven characters, we get a POV that goes from the past to the present and back again. In this book K.C. has weaved a multi layered mystery that keeps you guessing from the first page swipe, right up until the guilty party is revealed. We’ve also got some well placed hot sexy times, to keep you sucked into the story line.
Will Gary and Dan solve these cold cases? Are these cases related? Well, I’m not going to reveal that. You need to read this one and find out. I will say that once more K.C. has knocked it out of the park. From the top notch worldbuilding, deep dives into the world of solving cold cases, nuanced character development and stellar prose, creates a must-read book and series.
I highly recommend this book. Do yourself a favor and grab this from your favorite eBook source and dive into this fantastically written book. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.
