What happens when fate intertwines shifters from land and sea?
Dante Perez knows what it’s like to be an omega in an alpha’s world. He’s fought to make his company one of the best, and when he gets the opportunity to sponsor the summer’s air and water show circuit, he’s not going to let anything stand in his way, especially not alpha flyboy Dominic Pavone. Or his inconvenient attraction to the irritating man.
For Dominic, being a stunt pilot for the summer is usually the best part of his year. Until Dante ruins everything by traveling with the show. Now Dom can’t escape Dante no matter how hard he tries… and maybe he’s not trying all that hard.
When a hotel mix-up leaves Dante and Dominic sharing a room, the sparks that normally fly between them turn into flames of a different kind—the type that set the sheets on fire, and both men realize there is more between them. A lot more.
As summer and their arrangement comes to an end, a surprise changes everything they thought they knew about each other, but maybe a new beginning—the kind that leads to forever—is exactly what Dom and Dante need.
REVIEW:
I enjoyed the previous two books in this series, and this latest book did not disappoint. I really enjoyed how different the three books are, not only do they feature different couples but they are so different from each other which is refreshing.
The line between love and hate is very thin and it is easy to tip over from one to the other, Dante and Dom have always clashed since they first met. Dom really enjoys riling Dante up and goes out of his way to annoy him. Dante thinks that Dom is selfish and self-centered, too rich and spoilt but he only sees what he wants to see. This isn’t a true enemy to lovers scenario, as they know deep down that they don’t really hate each other, but are trying to drown their attraction to each other in barbs and annoyance. I enjoyed the push and pull between the two of them, the snark and underlying tension and that little by little the realisation that they are attracted to each other.
Dante is an Eagle shifter who spends his summers as a stunt pilot in a touring air show, he belongs to the shifter pack from Italy which was featured in book 2. He is the epitome of an Alpha daring and fearless, in command in the sky, showing off his death defying flying routine.
Dom is a Dolphin Omega who has had to work really hard to build up his company into a multi-million dollar enterprise and be taken seriously in a world dominated by Alpha’s. He is sponsoring the air show this season and takes great delight in ruffling Dante’s feathers.
The tension between the two smolders off the pages and snark is their love language, you couldn’t get more opposite than an Eagle and Dolphin. Especially when Dom hates heights, won’t even get a hotel room above the first floor and Dante loves nothing more than flying high in the sky. There was a unexpected twist with Dom’s fear of heights which was delightful and made so much sense, I laughed aloud at the tree house scene which was poignant, joyful and also funny.
I also really loved that you get to meet the previous 2 couples from the first books and see how they are getting on and how they all bond into a family and pack. Another great book in the series.
