BLURB:
Bennet’s just an ordinary office worker from Modesto… until the moon is full.
And being a werewolf is stressful. It interferes with Bennet’s work schedule and wreaks havoc with his love life. As if that wasn’t bad enough, things get more complicated when he accidentally bites a very handsome dental technician named Mario.
Will Bennet and Mario have a howling good time together, or will things just get hairy? They’ll find out during the next full moon!
REVIEW:
Bennet is a mostly content guy. He’s got a job in HR at a local hospital. He’s got parents who love him. He’s got friends. But it’s lonely – especially at the full moon when he turns into a wolf. He has some werewolf friends, but the dating pool of gay werewolves in his town is nil. So he mostly sticks to himself at the full moon or heads up to the mountains where he can enjoy a run in the woods.
Bennet is a night time grinder and so he’s gone to the dentist for a nightguard. A new Dental tech named Mario has him quite distracted however. He accidentally bites down when Mario’s finger is still in his mouth fitting the nightguard. Bennet is mortified! Mario let’s him off the hook 🙂 They are a little bit flirty, but after the bite, Bennet just wants to get out of there.
When he discovers that there is a new werewolf in town through another friend, he’s dismayed to discover that it’s Mario. And he’s the one who caused it 🙁 Mario is not thrilled, but he’s one to make the best of the situation. When he shows up at Bennet’s place, he’s a little mad at first, but he’s mostly just wanting information. They are clearly attracted, but with everything so new, they decide to take it slow and maybe the next full moon, they can figure out a strategy and Bennet will help Mario enjoy his new gifts 😉 Maybe, just maybe, things will work out for both of them.
This was an adorable story! I loved Bennet, his parents and Mario. Kim Fielding has written about werewolves before and I really enjoyed that series. This is another more lighthearted look at being different and finding your place. There is a sweet little Easter egg/crossover here too that fans of Ms. Fielding’s writing will enjoy. A lovely, low-angst, amuse bouche that fans of urban fantasy and paranormal romance will enjoy. It’s a quick read that will definitely leave you with a smile 😀
