I knew from the moment I saw him that Theo was mine. Mine to protect, mine to break, mine to put back together again. My favorite toy.I will use every resource at my disposal to find the men who hurt him and make them pay, whether he wants me to or not. It’s not up to him.

I’ll burn every bridge, turn over every stone, dig up every body until I get what I want.
And what I want now is vengeance for Theo. The Devil himself couldn’t stop me. I dare him to try.
REVIEW:
This one is a bit crazy. Poor Theo has been groomed from a young age to be a sex slave basically trafficked his whole life, until River crosses his path.
River (and his family) are a bunch of psycho killers each with their own diagnosis and tendencies. River, in particular, has no compunction about killing, though he does try to take out bad guys. When he sees Theo, he wants him for himself and to free him from whatever the situation is that put him with the men he is with.
River kind of kept me on my toes throughout this story, as I never quite knew what his real intentions were regarding Theo. He wanted to help him, wanted him to feel safe and get better and seemed to want him to want Theo and the things Theo wanted as well, but those things seemed rather dark, as did the possession aspect he had toward Theo.
However, as time went on and they worked toward finding Theo’s Master, or the mastermind behind the trafficking,Theo did grow to trust and love River. And while River never thought himself possible of similar feelings, it seems he and Theo found something together that was mutually beneficial in more ways than one.
The other fun(ish) aspect of this story is the rest of the family. Talk about a unique family makeup! Hard to describe them, but they are a functioning dysfunctional group who takes care of their own and had no trouble allowing Theo into their fold. I ended up really enjoying this page turner story and can’t wait to read more about this crazy psycho killer family.
