REVIEW:
This is it! This is book 2 of the second duet (first book was Chaos) and the final instalment in the Tattoos and Ties series from Ms. Kindle Alexander. The first duet was Havoc and Order where we fell in love with Keyes and Alec. The third book went in depth into the lives of Devin “Devilman” Fox and Special Agent Cash Ryan, their past and currently the undercover job that brought Cash back into Dev’s life.
In the previous book Dev started to learn the truth about a lot of things, both personal and club related. The abuse he received from his father became front and center, a few hard truths were revealed and the fact that Cash is now an agent of a special branch of the government (Attorney General’s Office). Cash is also the child whom Dev and Keyes saved all those years ago.
As Dev begins to see a clearer picture of what’s happening in the club, he agreed to work with the government, but of course with conditions (things are never easy with Dev, we should have learn that by now). Dev’s mind works over 100% all the time, there are just some things that his mind goes through that we wouldn’t normally think of on a regular basis but Dev’s mind does. He is smart (although he downplays this fact all the time, appearing as annoying and dumb), intuitive and a really great father. He is kind, generous and protective, especially to those he loves. His conditions with the government changes all the time but uppermost in the list is his children and Keyes.
The second book starts with the undercover group led by Cash continuing to go through the amount of Intel that they have gathered. Their directive hasn’t change throughout all the chaos, which is to find the missing money. Throughout all these, Cash kept having nightmares of Dev getting killed. It amps his anxiety level thinking of ways to protect the love of his life. Along the way, his personal directive has change, it is now to find ways to protect Dev and his children from whatever they find out and the backlash from it.
Learning more and more of what his father has been doing enrages Dev to no end. He thinks of ways to make his father pay. Realizing (nearly after the fact) his father’s intention for Dev to take the fall from the ongoing investigation, cemented Dev’s desire to leave the club behind for good. As things begin to escalate, increasing both Dev’s and Cash’s anxiety levels, they grow more and more embroiled in what they know, and that is not a lot considering all the danger they are facing just being front and center of all that is happening. When chaos erupted outside the businesses owned by the Disciples, the truth and reality begins to sink in. Several truths were revealed almost at the same time, bewildering/staggering truths that not only shook Dev but Cash as well.
This series is so well-written that you can’t put the book down from the minute you start reading it. I have read the first three books several times over and this last book I have read five times (as of this writing) so far. It is so good, the storyline is amazing and how it was written, WOW, just beautiful. These guys/characters are not your regular guys, they project bad guys and chaos personified but it is not the real deal, they are actually good guys presumed and disguised as bad guys because of the environment where they grew up in. They are just like you and me, they get hurt, taken advantage of/used, abused. They deserve love, care, honesty and devotion because they also give you equal measures, if not more, of who they are. Keyes and Dev are brothers through and through, they will always be there for each other. Cash and Alec are morally-good people who fell in love with both bikers who are also inherently morally-good people deep down. The only difference would be the situations they are all in. But amazingly, Keyes and Dev grew to be good men despite the fact. We have two pairs of lovers who were destined to be together, it doesn’t matter how long it took for Dev and Cash to be together again, the important thing is that they are now, and that they can start living a life they so deserve!
It makes me sad that this series has come to an end but also immensely happy that our Dev and Cash can finally live a life they so greatly deserve, with each other!
