Now divorced and a bodyguard for Four Kings Security, Saint loves his job and his found family. His dating life? A hot mess, until the spark of an unexpected attraction strikes him like lightning, leaving Saint confused. Why is he feeling hot and bothered over the ruggedly handsome Fire Chief?
After twenty years of service, Valentino “Val” Serrano is passing his fire ax on to the next Fire Chief. His retirement starts off with a bang, literally. Val is saved by the young, hot bodyguard he’s been dreaming of for longer than he cares to admit, but Saint is straight, isn’t he?
Val and Saint get roped into working on Val’s tavern, but Val is determined not to let Saint get under his skin. He’s been here before, and he’s not about to risk his heart, no matter how hot and flirty Saint is. When a killer sets his sights on Val and puts everyone he cares about in harm’s way, there’s suddenly more at risk than their hearts. If Val and Saint don’t stop the killer, their whole world could burn to the ground, and the possibility of a future together will go up in smoke.
REVIEW:
A new series from Ms. Charlie Cochet that is a spinoff from her Four Kings Security and The Kings: Wild Cards. The Kings: Royal Flush series will be following the lives and loves of our bodyguards from Four Kings Security. This first book, Dealing Him In, will start off the series with the love story of Santos “Saint” Cavallero and Valentino “Val” Serrano. Saint is a bodyguard at Four Kings while Val is a newly-retired Fire Chief.
Val’s retirement started off with a big bang, literally. Saint has been looking and thinking of Val in a not-so-innocent way for quite some time now. He is attracted to the man and he is confused how that can be when he hadn’t felt any of these for other men. He is one of the security on Val’s retirement party being held at a posh hotel. When the explosion happened, he didn’t have anyone else in sight except Val thinking he had to protect Val and get to him in time.
Val has been attracted to Saint way before his retirement party. His best friend owns Sapphire Sands, an exclusive club for GBTQ clientele. Four Security has been securing events at the club several times throughout the years. He has seen Saint several times and he knows that Saint is straight, and he has been down that road before, he doesn’t plan to be on it again.
But when the explosion happened and Saint getting sidelined because of the injuries he sustained, they were somehow roped into working on Val’s retirement plans which is finishing the Tavern he has been dreaming of for many years now. Spending time together made them more comfortable with each other, even amidst the sexual tension. When they kissed for the first time, Val told Saint that there couldn’t be more because he doesn’t want to be Saint’s first in everything, in his newly-found sexuality. Not being unfair to Saint, he is only attracted to Val. But Val is adamant about not being the first for Saint, and afraid of losing his heart. But Saint can also be persuasive. After all, he feels all of these emotions for Val only, no one else.
But for them to embark on this new “relationship,” they must first find the person who wants Val dead before it becomes too late. Saint will do his best to protect Val no matter what.
Thank you Ms. Charlie Cochet for another series to look out for. This has been an amazing read and I love our sexy bodyguards getting their own stories. If you are into sexy bodyguards finding their own HEA just like their predecessors have, the Four Kings themselves, then you should dive into this new series. I am looking forward to Ryden and Jay’s book next.
