This story just hooked me from the opening scene. We meet a very drunk Felix who has stumbled into the wrong student apartment and slipped in the bath, taking the shower curtain down with him. It just so happens it’s Saxons apartment. Saxon who is a Daddy through & through and instantly wants to take care of accident-prone Felix. From this one incident their lives are changed, with a million-dollar business idea and new best friends for life.
Thirteen years later they are still best friends and they have been room mates since they left college. Felix is about to take his business public and Saxon is a successful personal trainer and has an even more successful Daddy Cam channel.
They have both longed for each other all this time, much to the frustration of the people around them. After Felix’s assistant Tristan interferes, Felix stumbles on Saxons Daddy Cam channel. Can he look at Saxon the same way again or are their secret feelings about to come out?
I enjoyed this book from the start. The very opening chapter made me giggle out loud at Felix’s pure klutziness. I can fully empathise with him. I loved the dynamic between Felix and Saxon. They know each other in a way that only long-term friends can. Neither of them have ever had a successful relationship with anyone else, because of the relationship they have with each other. Nobody could ever compare, and no one could come between them.
I read this story in the Dirty Daddies anthology and to be honest until I just re read the blurb saying it was from there, I didn’t even realise it was. The added content made it seem like a new story in its own right.
K.M. Neuhold has written a fun, light read with two characters that you love and want to succeed. Just occasionally you want to bang their heads together, gently, because they are missing what is right under their noses. They even have their own routine for when Felix gets home from work. How did they not see they are in a pseudo relationship already!!!!
