But once the words are out there, Tristan can’t take them back or laugh them off as a joke, because Gibson isn’t having it. He’s wanted Tristan since he was old enough to know what wanting was, and he has no intention of letting fear keep them apart.
Mayor Tristan may have big plans for their small town, but Daddy Gibson has big plans for the mayor.

REVIEW:
This is book three in The Daddies of River Gorge Series. It focuses on Tristan the Mayor of River Gorge and Gibson one of the vets in the town. They have been friends since school, with both of them having moved away to learn their jobs professions, Tristan is a lawyer as well as the mayor and resumed their close friendship.
Everybody knows Gibson is a Daddy but no-one in River Gorge knows Tristan is a boy and with an election coming up, and a bigot running against him, Tristan wants to keep that way. Until he utters 3 little words drunk and falling asleep on his best friend’s sofa. His best friend who has always had a major crush on him.
Tristan and Gibson have been due a book forever, with them both appearing as side characters in both this series and The Men of River Gorge Series. I did not see them being in a book together until the little glimpse of them at the end of Bear. Tristan has been really good at hiding his longing to be Gibson’s boy.
I read this book straight after writing and submitting my review for Bear. If I didn’t know better, I would say Jacki James had written this book after reading my previous reviews.
I love the fact that this is a couple in their mid-40’s. I love the gentle way that Gibson looks after Tristan, gradually introducing him to how he plans to look after him. It reminds me of the way that you treat a scared animal, gently building their trust in you. Yes, Tristan trusts Gibson as a friend but is unsure about having a Daddy of his own in town. Gibson is so patient with Tristan about not wanting people to know about their relationship, despite it being the opposite of how he would normally operate.
I also love all the characters in River Gorge and how they all rally to support the “most progressive Mayor in the area”. As with the other books in this series we see characters from both this series and The Men of River Gorge series. I think reading the other books isn’t essential before reading this one but I would suggest you will get more enjoyment from it if you have.
I am looking forward to seeing what Nash has for us next year.
