REVIEW:
This has been a heck of a ride and while I was ready for some things to be resolved, I’m sad for this to be the end. We finally get the final showdown with Jax, thank goodness, as that situation was getting just a bit too much to deal with and he really needed to be put in his place.
As for the Family, I have loved watching them each evolve and move into their individual roles. Some of those have changed over time, given
circumstances, and how the various experiences ended up changing them (i.e. Lio, Benjamin, etc.) but they have all earned/found their places.
Lio and Allesandro really are symbiotic so the progression of their relationship was natural, as was the repositioning of him and Luca as Allesandro’s Second.
Luca has gone through some major events as well, and while he will always have a place in the Family, Allesandro’s allowing him to branch out to his own territory says a lot. Looks like he may get his own book in the future which I will not hesitate to grab.
This has been a dark, violent and sometimes gorey saga, but the characters mostly all managed to grab hold. A lot has happened over the course of this series, so there really isn’t a way to not start from the beginning. I think reading about their journey is really important to understanding them and their lives, and Ms. Kenzie does a great job bringing them to life. Can’t wait to jump into another of her stories to see if they pack the same punch as these. Definitely recommend if you like your stories a bit more on the grittier side.
