BLURB:
Getting caught in the middle of two hyper-competitive, muscle-bound gym bros isn’t supposed to be this fun, is it?
I’m a list person. Lists make sense, they give a chaotic, unpredictable world order. Realizing I was gay at thirty definitely wasn’t on my list.
I guess I need a new list…
New apartment: check
New gym bod: let’s call that work in progress…
Dive into the gay dating pool: DOUBLE check
I didn’t plan to move in smack dab between two rival beef-cakes, but I’m not complaining.
I can’t tell if wooing me is just another challenge they’re trying to win or if fighting over me is their way of dancing around the obvious tension between them. But, the more I get to know them both, the more I’m hoping this whole thing might be real.
I don’t think I have the list for this…
REVIEW:
This is Book 2 of the More Than Friends series from Ms. K.M. Neuhold. It features an MMM relationship with a nerd/jocks trope.
Xeno is a skilled baker who owns his own bakery. Andre is the owner of Sweat, a gym who takes pride is its gender-fluid acceptance of its clients. Ezra is the nerd Accountant who makes these two beautiful jocks not only compete for his attention but likewise made them all think of more than just hookups or flings.
Xeno and Andre has been having this “sort of” rivalry in the workouts they do in the gym, I would say it’s a form of foreplay for them (although they would vehemently deny that it isn’t so) because they are attracted to each other. Xeno’s last relationship is now happily with another man while Andre has always gone for men who are just like him (“gym rats” if that’s alright) but sadly all of them didn’t last. These men are both successful in their respective careers but there is still something they are looking for. Although they are attracted to each other, there is always something holding them back from taking that final step. But Xeno did attempt and got turned down (not really turn down per se but…) by Andre.
Ezra came out late, to his wife nonetheless but having met Xeno in a bar a year ago was the push he needed to finally be true to himself. Now divorced and having just moved in into his new apartment (which unbeknownst to him) is right between Xeno’s and Andre’s apartments. Ezra is a LIST guy, he has a list for everything and his new lists has items that pertains to his new life and he is determined to make a significant dent on it. Meeting Xeno again seems to be fate for them. And when he enlisted in the gym around the corner from his apartment and meeting Andre seems to be too much too soon for him, or so he thinks. Ezra never thought that these two gorgeous guys will ever be attractive to him.
I love the dynamic that Ms. Neuhold has created between these three gorgeous men. I love the banter and the nerdy awkwardness of Ezra and how both Xeno and Andre are protective of him but at the same time really attracted to him (which goes against both their previous types). But Love is Love right? You follow your heart more than your mind, and when it is right, it is right.
If you love exploring Polyamorous relationships and learn the dynamics about it, this is the perfect read for you. It is smart, sweet and the friendship these three lovelies have is just beautiful. It is light and low-angst so just a perfect read.
Thank you and Congratulations Ms. Neuhold, for another bestseller!
