LENGTH: 164 Pages
RELEASE DATE: July 28, 2023
BLURB:
Indie’s determined to navigate this world alone, but he’s never come up against a determined Daddy before.
Normally, everyone likes Cameron. As the General Manager of The Tap Tavern, he’s protective, empathetic, and considerate of his employees and their needs. Especially those who’ve come in through the Takoda Career Center.
Indie knows betrayal. He’s lived with the consequences and survived. Everyone else might see Cameron as some knight in shining armor, but they don’t see him like Indie does. They haven’t known him as long, either. Where was this hero when Indie’s father tossed him aside?
Cameron can’t make up for what he didn’t know, and he’s weary of taking someone else under his wing for them to not need him anymore. But…there’s something different about Indie now that he’s all grown up. Something that calls to him. The younger man’s hurt lurks behind the defiance he wears like armor, and Cameron longs to soothe it.
Welcome back for another heartwarming Love On Tap series, where a new group of men are so scarred on the inside that they don’t think happiness is possible. They’ll find out that sometimes on the journey of life, there is healing and more love than they’d ever dreamed possible.
REVIEW:
If like me, you have read all the books in the Love On Tap series’ and the Takoda Outreach books and enjoyed them then you will love this book. It combines the series’ perfectly with overlapping characters in the way Sammi does so well, with the Tap Tavern in the same universe as the Takoda Outreach Centre.
If you have read all the Love on Tap books then you too will have been waiting for Cameron to realise he is a Daddy and to find his perfect boy for a long, long time. He has looked after all the boys in Toby’s crew for many years and has helped them find their perfect Daddies but never found that perfect relationship for himself. We didn’t even know if he realised he was a Daddy even though everybody else did.
We also didn’t know, nor did he, that it would be someone from his past that would be the perfect boy for him. He knew Indie when Indie was much younger . Cameron was a lot older than him but then something happens and they don’t get the opportunity to speak to each other again.
With all the members of Toby’s crew and their Daddies appearing as cameo’s in this book along with the ever present Ollie the door man, we get to see how loved Cameron is by everyone apart from his latest employee who goes out of his way to avoid Cameron and Cameron doesn’t understand why . They knew each other way back when but as far as Cameron knows he hasn’t done anything wrong . I don’t want to say anymore about the storyline so I don’t ruin it for anyone but I think you can guess how it ends.
As with all of the books in the series we get a cast of side characters that bring energy to the story , in this one with a “grandma” and Cameron’s dad bringing love to the characters. These series are found family stories at their warmest. Characters that haven’t always had the easiest lives find love and acceptance by others and for themselves. * sigh.
