Blog Tour, Exclusive Excerpt & Giveaway: Always the Best Man by Deanna Wadsworth
Destiny Ink Romance, Book 13
What happens in Vegas doesn’t just stay in Vegas.
Since high school, Dillon Hintz has been in love with his straight best friend, Jackson McCaughey. He knows nothing will come of his crush, however, because Jackson is getting married… until his fiancée leaves him at the altar. WTF?
To compensate for a lost honeymoon, Destiny Resorts offers Jackson a jilted groom vacation at their luxurious Las Vegas casino, courtesy of the sisters Fate. Jackson invites his twin cousins and Dillon to be his plus-threes, and the guys set out for a fun-filled weekend to help Jackson party away his heartbreak. But Dillon is surprised to find his best friend isn’t very heartbroken.
In fact, Jackson is being unusually attentive with Dillon. Flirty even.
It has to be Dillon’s imagination, right? There’s no way his straight best friend is interested in nerdy Dillon.
But after one night of too much fun and alcohol, Dillon wakes up in Jackson’s bed… wearing a wedding band. WTF?
Just what did they do last night?

Dillon woke up with a painful moan, warm arms holding him close and a bare chest pressed to his naked back. He instinctively snuggled back into that warmth, then froze as his thoughts awakened. Where am I? Where is my shirt? Why are my pants unzipped? And whose bed am I in? Dillon groaned. Oh damn, what did I do last night? He couldn’t remember much, but he was in bed with a man. Who the hell did I hook up with? Where’s Jackson? Dillon panicked. Jackson said he wouldn’t care if Dillon hooked up, but Dillon had promised he wouldn’t. He didn’t remember anything though… What the fuck happened? The man behind him mmm-ed and tightened his arm, spooning closer. “Mornin’, boo,” the stranger purred, lips tickling Dillon’s ears. A familiar, comforting herbal scent washed over him. Dillon’s morning wood noticed it all, loving both the words and the sensations. Then his mind stopped dead. Jackson? What the…? Dillon flinched when Jackson’s hand stroked down his bare chest. He burrowed closer to Dillon, the warm breath on Dillon’s neck making him shiver. Damn, even hungover he liked everything about this moment. Until his cock surged when Jackson toyed with a nipple piercing lazily before resting his hand flat on Dillon’s low lower abdomen. Another inch or two and he’d be inside his jockstrap! Dillon cleared his throat and said in a normal voice, “Uh, Jackson, it’s me, Dillon.” Jackson stiffened but didn’t roll away. “I know,” he answered, an odd inflection in his voice that Dillon couldn’t identify. He also couldn’t remember how they ended up like this, shirtless on one bed, spooning, with Dillon’s jeans unzipped. This was like a really bad remake of The Hangover. Then Jackson’s hand stroked up his belly and found the piercings again. Dillon’s cock jerked. With the way Dillon was hunched in his arms, Jackson had enough hand span from his pinky and thumb to touch both of his nipples at the same time. When he flicked them gently, Dillon hissed. Freaking right the fuck out, he pulled away, rolling over to face him. Jackson kept a firm arm around him, forcing them to share the same pillow, the same breath, faces inches apart. Looking all heaven-sent and sleep-rumpled, Jackson smiled. “Mornin’.” “You’re snuggling me,” Dillon said. “I am.” “You were just playing with my piercings.” “You know I like them.” What the fuck? Neither of them wore shirts and when Dillon braved a peek down, unlike his own unbuttoned and unzipped skinny jeans, Jackson’s jeans were wide open and halfway down his thighs! The purple underwear should have been a surprise, but… “Oh my God,” Dillon breathed. Whatever sleepy spell of contentment surrounding Jackson finally broke. His gray eyes widened. He withdrew his arm and they both slowly rolled onto their backs and stared at the ceiling. His heart pounded as hard as his head. “What the actual fuck?” Dillon ran his fingers through his hair and froze. He gaped at his left hand. A carved wooden band circled his left ring finger. Everything started to come back in fits and starts. Images flashed through Dillon’s hungover, alcohol-dehydrated brain. No, it couldn’t be… It started with that intense stare in the hotel lobby bar… Jackson deliberately playing with his piercing… Dillon’s erection… and Jackson not being phased by it. “My piercings are a direct line to my dick. You keep that shit up, I won’t be responsible for my actions.” He’d said it and Jackson had said… what? He’d laughed, right? Oh my God, what have I done?
