REVIEW:
I don’t think you can go wrong with any book in the entire Morgan Brice mega verse. I would highly recommend that you listen to the first book in this series. Many references are made to that book, and it is helpful if you’ve read or listened to it. You can enjoy the book without any knowledge of the first book, but it’s super helpful if you have. This one is a slow burn.
Morgan excels at world building and character development. In this series and story, she has created a wonderfully loving and accepting world. She uses the mixed shifter relationship as a metaphor for the real world. Where it doesn’t matter who you are, love is love. Interspersed in this idyllic setting, she throws in a little mystery suspense in for fun.
Noah and Drew are well rounded fated mates. But due to circumstance beyond their control it takes them awhile to bring their fated selves together. Her characters are extremely well defined and easily relatable. I loved the mixed shifter relationship in this book. A lynx shifter and a wolf shifter are a perfect pair.
Because of Morgan’s descriptive writing, John Solo has a wealth of material to draw from to create his one-of-a-kind narration performance. He manages to create the right tempo for the story and increases and decreases his pacing to create anticipation in the action scenes. Then can turn around and pull a sex scene out of thin air. He doesn’t just read the story to you. He creates the perfect balance between the voices of the main characters and the side characters. It’s a very nuanced performance. You really get the feeling John embraced these characters and truly enjoyed bringing them to life.
This series is fantastic and well deserving of you running to your favorite audiobook purchasing site and grabbing this one to listen to. I highly recommend this audiobook, as the combination of Morgan’s words and Johns performance are brilliant. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
