Caleb Allen
I wasn’t looking for love, but it found me anyways. I was healing from the trauma of gun violence by vacationing on a beach in Mexico with my best friends and bandmates. Then he blows into my life, turns it upside down and gives me the safety and love I need. Problem is, he’s about to be a professor in my college and relationships between students and faculty are prohibited. Are we really saying goodbye after everything we’ve shared?
Eric Moore
After years of hard work, I’ve finally become a professor. On top of that, the affair with my old boss is about to stop. To celebrate my success and reset my life, I’m spending a month on a beach in Mexico. Then he shows up in the house next door and burrows into my heart. Can I really let him go at the end of his vacation?
When we both go home, a change in class schedules means Caleb is now one of my students. It’s important enough to tell him in person before classes start. When I confront him at his band’s show, I can’t say goodbye again. We start a secret relationship, but my old boss is a major donor to my college and he’s quickly figuring it out. How can I keep the career of my dreams and hang on to the man I love?
Never Let It End is the third book in the Rock U series and is part of the Mesa Boys universe. This novel features an age gap, hurt/comfort, and a bad-boy rocker in love with his professor. It guarantees an HEA and has no cliffhangers. It features a level-headed student suffering from trauma, and a man who’s trying to start a new life on the right path. Each book features a different couple and can be read as a standalone or as part of the series in order.
REVIEW:
Time to catch back up with our favorite local rockstars that are quickly finishing up their time as college students.
Caleb is really struggling with all that happened during the mass shooting at the Guitar Center that he, Axel and Silas lived through. The tragedy that left Axel shot in the leg. If his fear hadn’t crippled him Axel leg might not still be affected. But even therapy can’t get the nightmares to go away. And guilt clogs his brain. So Gabe’s Dad let them all head to their family’s place down in Mexico to get away from it all and relax before fall term starts back up. When Caleb spots the gorgeous guy at the next door villa he has to find out if he’s single and swings his way. Eric has finally done it. He’s raised himself up from poverty and now that he has earned his doctorate he has achieved his life long goal. Professor at the University. When the cutie that arrived with all his buds next door seems interested he has to go check it out. But can they Never Let It End when they discover their strange predicament?
I have been worried about all the boys after that tragic event at the Guitar Center. Mass shootings unfortunately are a thing and happening way to frequently to innocent people. Going shopping for new guitar strings should never result in fighting for your life because some crazed lunatic decides to shoot up the place! I knew Axel would recover and Remy would be by his side to help with the process. But I really worried about Caleb and Silas. And Caleb beating himself up for his perceived cowering in fear while being touted as a hero really made me worry. Thankfully Eric is the perfect balm for those deep wounds. I will say that I worried when they left Mexico for both men. And when Eric went to tell Caleb the new news of his class load change I simply couldn’t see him or Caleb being able to separate again. That love was just too strong and deep even if neither wanted to acknowledge it. They really were the perfect match both mentally and physically. They complimented and completed the other as no other ever would. But even more importantly, they got each other and made sure that their one succeeded and thrived. I will say that all the times I have rented places to stay I never thought about hidden security cameras capturing my every move. That now weighs on my mind.
The thing I love most about this series is that Author Christie Gordon has never shied away from the really hard subjects. Be it a Mormon boy that wants out of all the restraints of the church to be himself. Or a young man that has idolized and suffered from unrequited love of his older brother’s best friend his whole life. To being caught in a mass shooting situation and the trauma that results. And now the forbidden love affair of a college student and his professor that simply can’t end. I truly appreciate that she weaves all these tough subjects in her books and gives a legitimate solution while helping her young Rock Stars find their one.
Getting to catch up with all the boys from Knot Me and their life mates was a treat. Watching them unwind and support each other the way they do is golden. I can’t wait for Silas’s story next and hope for Gabe and Milo’s stories too. Can’t wait for the next book!
