REVIEW:
I am thrilled to be back in the Secret Springs alternate universe.
Home-town boy Raven Valenciaga is a trained nurse accoucheur that is now co-owner with Devon at the Birthing Center. He has his work. He has his loving family. He has his secret tattoos. And he has a trip to Denver every so often when the itch for a bit of kinky play becomes too great. So no dipping his toes in the local dating pool for him. That could become too messy. But when he gives in, in a moment of weakness, to a blind date he never considered that he would wind up in the hospital from anaphylactic shock from the body spray of the local hunky gym owner. Ben Tallent has been curious about the seemly meek and mild-mannered midwife every since they crossed paths at Pins and Needles Tattoo parlor his friend Lukas owns. But, after a plumbing disaster that left him
late for his blind-date it never occurred it would be with the little cutie or that his emergency body spray would cause such an adverse reaction! Both men had sworn off dating in Secret Springs but fate intervened in Denver instead. But can they make this chemistry work back in their small home-town???
This story went not from zero-to-sixty but more like fifty-to-seventy like the author mentioned. Neither man wanted local complications but the pull together was just too much to resist. They just fit so well. Then they decide that birth control really isn’t that important and I was flabbergasted. Here is a midwife that knows exactly how babies are made and decides what the heck??? Really because this does not sound like the responsible business owner that either man was. Oh and to just drop into the courthouse on a midweek lunch break TO GET MARRIED and act like that’s an everyday occurrence. Oh and, by the way, we’re pregnant too. Oh and we bought a house hence the fact we got married so fast with no one invited! I wanted to slap both men up side the head. The family would have stopped everything to be there for them but they act like it’s no big deal. But Raven loved his grandparents and their longevity of commitment and marriage. It just flabbergasted me to the insensitivity of it all.
This really was a very fast-paced book jammed full of lots of information and a bunch of new characters. I was thrilled that we got to catch up a bit with all the men we have come to know and grow fond of. Ben’s connection with all the Alphas was a treat to witness. And they came running, as I knew they would, when all got crazy. Those are loyal and honorable men for sure. And the Food! I’m am so hungry and my mouth is watering with every dish’s description!
Hold on to your seats because this is a fast ride.
